Royal Wedding 4/29

I don't really care per se, but yes - a mini-fascination with the Royal Family. I watched Diana's wedding and now will watch what I can of this - before I go to work in the morning. I want to see her dress. After that, it's all over for me.

Excuse me....did I hear the price tag correctly for this wedding?? 65 Million??? That is completely nuts....border line: they should be ashamed. Just my opinion.

No I will not be watching it! Not interested.

Nothing can be done over there in this day and age that isn't going to cost a fortune. It's not overdone -- they're the ROYALS for crying out loud! Did some of you think they should just elope and spend nothing?

I say go for it -- England needs the pomp and circumstance --

Watched from start to finish. Kind of felt the ceremony was a bit somber. Loved all the pomp and circumstance in and around it all though. Some of the cars used for transportation were amazing of course..saw a new Bentley in there..

The dress...elegant and understated imo. It suited her. Just wish she would have worn her hair up. This would have set the gorgeous veil up off her back and shown more of the dress from behind..which was spectacular with the lace and bustle happening back there. So pretty it all was with the gentle breezes blowing. A stiffer hemline would have framed the dress more, too. Nice of the queen to loan the tiara she got from her own father when she was 18. Loved the tiara.

Kate's sister Pippa looked gorgeous...but white? Noticed a lot of white frocks and suits in the crowd, too. What's up with that?

All the men including William looked great. Some of the hats worn by family and guests were crazzzzy. Fergie's girls looked ridiculous. And how the heck did Posh's hat stay on the front of her forehead like that??

Didn't watch but saw some picts. I liked her hair down. I think too many brides go over the top stuffy with the hard sprayed up dos. It suited the dress. I don't know why so many in the wedding party were in white, but imagine with the blue and navy of the groom, it might be hard to figure out what to coordinate for a bridal party. It worked well with the white pants on the little guys. I so don't get the hats.

I didn't hear the wedding cost THAT much. Nonetheless, I have friends in London who raved about it and felt this is what they needed. Plus, the money being brought in from the wedding is revenue in itself for many businesses.

Loved her dress - classic, eleganT, understated. Her veil left something to be desired, but she looked stunning nonetheless. It was a picture perfect wedding, typically 'by the book' English. Will & Kate looked comfortable and happy. Harry looked like he was ready to let loose and tie one on. I'm exhausted from getting up so early.

BTW - what the hell was with Victoria Beckman? That hat looked like a dead bird and she is emaciated! That woman needs to EAT!

I agree, the dress was beautiful. It actually looks like it could be copied for a reasonable amount of money, too. It's not uncommon for bridal parties to be in white in England.

Agree about Fergie's girls -- definitely won't care to watch either one of their weddings.

For a preggers Victoria Beckham - she looks very pinched and drawn.

did you see Beatrice and Euginie's terrible looking hats?

and did you hear the story about the African King with a bunch of wives that the public wanted to uninvite to the wedding? Apparently, the gals dance topless for him for a chance to choose one as a wife! WTF???

Fergie's daughters looked awful. Money can't buy class. The 'matador' hat was honestly scary. Fergie probably wanted them to stand out because she herself was dissed from the invite list.

As far as Victoria B...I forgot...she's pregnant? She looks drawn and as usual deathly skinny.

Ummm...wondering where I can get one of these? Unique? Different? Tasteful? Or just down right hideous? hahahaha Surely SOMEONE had to have seen that hat before she walked out the door and should have told her hell NO.

But then again; wasn't that the same designer for Beckman's hat? Fire him immediately.

Speaking of hats . . . Next Saturday is Derby Day!

I know! Not going to the Derby (never have, no desire)...but going to some semi-fancy thing with a friend. Hats: I do not do hats. I look horrible in them, so no hat for me.)

Ha! I don't either. If it is really pouring rain, I might pull up a hood, but even in the dead of midwest winter, I don't do hats. It's not about how I look in them but the whole hat hair thing when you take them off!

Derby Day means a party here - Mint Julips and lots of good food - Every year I hope for a Triple Crown winner - I don't think there is any standout horse this year that can pull off the ultimate trifecta. There is nothing like watching the thoroughbreds run - the power grace and beauty of them as magnificent "athletes" is something to behold.
