There was a Roger Perlmutter Town Hall wecast today in which he gave a frank evaluation of the current MRL status. It was not pretty.
If the current state of affairs is allowed to continue Merck will cease to exist! MRL productivity is near the bottom of the pharma industry. There is pain coming, lots of pain. Very soon, like the next few weeks.
It sounds like he will be going after the excessively bloated middle management. In my opinion, they could fire 75% of the managers without having any negative effect. Most of them don't actually do anything of value. They just collect data and push it up or they micro manage.
