Rheumatology Specialty Positions (New)

Asking if you want fries with that is not a job. 2 of my old managers told me if a person of my age walks in the door automatically crossed off the list. Doesn't matter salary, contacts, companies don't want older reps. Contract is not onlyn the wave of the future but the only job someone over 50 can get. ( Unless there's some kind of nepotism )

That is disappointing to hear. I am well into my 50s and really thought I wold get this contract. I have no other prospects at this point. I have had nothing but low paying jobs out of my field since 2010 when I was downsized. I am a multiple award winner as well, but nothing seems to get me in the door. I get interview after interview and have been told so many times I was 2nd choice. So sick of hearing that. I would take a pay cur form 6 figures and work for 65K any day of the week. Why do these companies and managers not see what value they can get for such little money. Nothing can compare with experience. Well as far as I am concerned, Publicis and Pfizer both lost out by not hiring me or the many other more mature and seasoned reps.

Pharma is particularly bad about this. Most companies would love to hire you at such as cut rate salary, but once you realize just how poor pharma management really is, you will understand. Pfizer is a horrible company to work for I can promise you that!

Please don't lose hope, don't forget people have to take tests and be certified. No passy no joby

Just curious, has anyone ever heard they did not get the position or is everyone still hanging like me just waiting for closure. I know I didn't get it but a phone call or e-mail from the recruiter or trainer who e-mailed all summer to see if I was still interested would be nice.

I have never heard anything. But I never heard from the recruiter to see if I was one of the two presented to the client manager. I emailed and called the recruiter and nothing! Imagine my surprise when I got a call a couple of days before the " meet and greets!" After my meeting with the Publicis and Pfizer manager, I was again met with complete silence. I have called and emailed and have been completely ignored. All I can say is if the market wasn't so bad; I would tell them to take a hike! Unfortunately, they know we need the job and have no choice but to put up with their bad manners and lack of professionalism!

That is so unprofessional. Maybe all of us should send very nice e-mails to them just asking what happened and when we will hear something until someone responds.

I finally got a rejection email from them today. I guess it took a while for them to get the person they picked signed up and drug tested. Still wish I had heard earlier. Now I can move on.

It's not the Chinese fire drill interview I was put through that annoys me...it's the impersonal, generic rejection email I got that chaps my butt. You "met and greeted" 2 people and you couldn't pick up the phone to tell me I wasn't selected. At least put my name on the letter - geez....I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I feel your pain, I was selected and got an offer letter. The next day I got an email rejection that was probably generated months ago. I called HR and asked them "if they knew something I didn't" response was basically it's a computer generated email. So impersonal

I called John Ahern personally in order to get the news. I told him that I thought they were very unprofessional in the way the handled this entire Pfizer contract after stringing many people along for 3 months.

Good for you, hopefully you got to him live.
I interviewed several months ago live, had a meeting with RM and everything was going along (recruiter called and said I was going to be put forward to meet and greet) and then I got a call several weeks later saying for some reason(unexplained) I was not moving forward. This was such a BS move and it makes me happy now as I wouldn't have wanted the job anyway.

The recruiter I dealt with was great! He kept me informed all along the way, and called me to say I didn't get it. The long process is just indicative of how screwed up Pfizer really is.

I had the same experience with my recruiter, but with a better outcome. We were sending emails to each other and she kept me informed. I am one of the lucky ones that got the job. What I like the most of this position is that I'll be representing a great product and Company without receiving all the Pfizer crap directly since my Publicis manger is amazing.

Me too, NO PODS (yippppeeee), just one direct counterpart, I'm happy about that. For all the people yet to hear, don't give up, there is hope. Tests need to be taken.
Also no matter how bad Pfizer is, it doesn't matter I was out of work 2 years I'll just say "thank you sir may I have another" I'm thrilled to be back in the work force.

Did get a call from the recruiter confirming I didn't get the job. No s**t Sherlock - already got the o-so personal email.

It's an embedded contract, so you WILL be dealing with a Pfizer manager directly. The Publicis managers will just be dealing with paperwork duties.
