Reputation, Competitors, & Current state of Philips Healthcare

^^^ go easy on that...it was a brutal year for Philips employees with not much hope ahead.

Trust me on this one, the comment was not poking at the employees of Philips as I have great empathy of what they go through on a daily basis as I once lived it. The middle management and some senior management at Philips is the problem. I wish it has only been one brutal year for Philips employees but it has been five years and counting. If you are fortunate enough to get out, you realize just how miserable you were at Philips once you experience a new company culture.

Our reputation and current state is piss poor. Yet another FSE layoff which is 4 in just over 2 years. We continue to lose money and instead of kill the overhead at any of our 3 US corporate offices we get rid of the individuals that bring in the revenue and keep the customers happy. Sales did face some layoffs but hey it was to be expected falling short of AOP by $1 billion the last few years.
My humble opinion is that Philips is tanking and has become irrelevant in healthcare. There are many reasons for this but the bottom line is look for Philips to be sold.

FIRE SALE!!!!!!!!!!

"Sales did face layoffs but hey it was to be expected falling short of AOP by $1 billion the last few years" --- a situation that was exacerbated by a factory shut-down of 2 of the major imaging modalities. Still can't get a straight answer about when systems will ship. This isn't something that is turned around in a month (or even years). Philips is definitely ripe for takeover.

Not going to happen

Lets not forget Philips is a very large organization and a top 10 medical device company with revenue in the billions. Sure theres a lot of changes and even some downsizing but thats Corporate America. I'll enjoy my six figure income thank you.

Complacency and people like you are the reason they are in trouble. Mediocrity breeds mediocrity.
