Reptrax is the worst vendor credentialing

I watched the VCS video and you obviously you must not be one of the "green ones" with the checkmark. I feel sorry for your hospitals. JK Seriously, how do you think vendor credentialing got started? Why do you think hospitals started getting more serious about credentialing vendors and turned to third parties with the technology? Read the newspaper about or "google" rep misoconduct, infection outbreaks, hospital theft, etc... (or just watch the movie Love & Other Drugs)! I agree with the comments above...basically a handful of "third party vendor credentialing companies" or the alternative of 5,000+ hospitals across the country all doing their own thing and charging their own price, hmmmm? Let's all be honest, anything that costs us time and money, we're going to complain about. And if we're still being honest, if you're like me, you just wished you had thought of it first!

Infection outbreaks ? Good lord ! Have you never been in an ER? They're jammed with people who have never been vaccinated for anything in their entire life. The same in the ICU's. You have groups of family members visiting a loved one who have never been vaccinated. Despite these public health issues, hospitals focus on their med device salespeople who may be one of the safest demographics in the building.

No kidding. Medical device companies do not go out and hire the bottom of human society to push their products to surgeons, one of the most educated segments of society.

They go after those who "have the money" and have no choice but to pay.

VCS discriminates

I can understand looking from the outside in. VCS will start charging nursing students, physicians and anyone else they can get money from. The are a venture capitalist money machine that wants to stick it to all healthcare providers for a TB test etc. Also they turned a friend of mine down from a job there because he did not fit the profile of under 32 and a hot flirty blond. sad

The company is managed by a CEO who is the biggest buffoon on earth. They have the worst attrition rates and the worst place to work. A dictator named Sheehan who is megalomaniac runs the company. Ohhhhh..I am glad out of this company. They fire people and tell that the person resigned...why? to save unemployment taxes.

After 30 years in the business I'm glad I'm out. These crooks have made it impossible for reps to do business. It was a shock first time I had to fuck with these guys. I traveled all over the country and ran into this in many hospitals. HCA has different credentialing ZONES so you have to pay 250 for each region of the country. Now the "big" hospital chains have their own credentialing and this is fucking ridiculous.

Reptrax is nothing more than a repository for documents and to sell their "fire safety" "compliance" and other programs for bullshit I don't need. If a fucking fire broke out I'm out and I'll let the fire department deal with it.

Hep B Vaccinations, TB tests, Flu shots, PAP Smears and colonoscopy results, voting papers. What will it be next? If they think reps are screwing the system look at RepTrax. HCA and any other credentialing scam.

I'm glad I'm out.

26 year veteran of medical sales and I totally agree. Hospitals are hosed and missing innovative new products due to vendors frustrations and neglect in hospitals that require them to sell their first born to even gain entrance. Fucking ludicrous!!!

VCS/Symplr has become the worst. They are more than happy to take your money and then reject as many credentials as possible so you have to purchase theirs or you don't get in the hospital. I won't be renewing this POS service.

I figured I'd resurrect this thread as I found it quite revealing into the insights of healthcare industry representatives. I would hope that the preponderance of the responses contained herein are not reflective of the true professionalism of your peers.

I speak to you as a voice from the other side of the desk. Are you all really that ignorant of the requirements set forth by CMS that require anyone that provides healthcare services to Medicare/Medicaid patients? Are you aware that we risk loosing reimbursement for doing business with any sanctioned party; be they a rep or a company?

Does anyone remember the genesis of all of this? How about the patients that died due to the negligence of Physicians relying on product reps to aid and assist while performing surgical procedures? Does this one ring a bell?

This thread was as enlightening as it was frightening to read. Rest assured that I will never look at you the same when you enter my hospital to work with our clinicians. Please remember why we all have jobs; It is because you, me, or someone's loved one is ill and needs treatment. Any inconvenience or expense you suffer is inconsequential to the gift of healing and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Please rethink why you work in healthcare.

Your argument, and your post in general, makes no sense. Are you saying that if the hospital in that article had implemented RepTrax or VCS, that the rep would not have gone into the sterile field?
You have no clue, from the reps' side of the desk, as to what is wrong with vendor credentialling. How many times have you had to pay a $200+ annual subscription to multiple places that require documentation of your immunizations and medical tests (which is an additional cost) with little to no accountability as to the security of private information?
I once had to cover a surgery for a coworker at a hospital that I had never been to before and was denied access because the circa 1997 laptop they used to sign in to VCS was broken. Despite showing the OR manager that I could log into VCS on my phone and was fully compliant, they wouldn't let me in.

Does that improve patient care?

Now Hospitals via IntelliCentrics RepTrax requires us to pay for another (on top of multiple this yr) Background Check this year. What a financial racket. Pay Hundreds Annually to a Website to get onto the hospital. Required by Hospital and Guaranteed Residual Income. #Shameful

Seeing more hospitals enforcing logins to VCS, Symplr, whatever just to check in instruments to SPD. Yes, I definitely want to go all the way up to the OR, sign in, and walk all the way back down to the basement, just to check in 2 pans to SPD...a non-sterile area.

I have no problem with the need for credentialing, and its necessary place in medicine. The problem I have is with the way it was established, then proliferated. The intelligent, equitable way to have done this, back then, would have been to create ONE central repository for EVERYONE'S information and documents and have everyone pay one annual fee to contribute to its maintenance. The current system is a ripoff that was waiting to happen.

It's a scam designed to take reps and/or company money. There's ways around it, including sharing "set credentialing" which is the biggest racket of all. Make sure you get creative so they don't get away with screwing you over. A bunch of us got creative and it has saved us thousands as a group
