Nobody “gets off” the last two weeks of December. A lot of people do save PTO days to “take off” the days between Christmas and New Years to get about a week 1/2 off. Sorry you didn’t plan accordingly.

No that’s not true. Some big companies do actually shut down between Christmas and New Years.
