Rejection

I think it is very sad to go through several interviews, meet lots of people within organization, spend hours preparing for the interviews, feel that you really connected with the people you were interviewing with, and then to hear nothing. How hard is it for the hiring manager whom you have spoken with several times to pick up the phone and thank you for your efforts or at least send an email or at the very least have the person who set up the interviews in the first place let you know that they have moved on with another candidate. Is that so hard?

What is really sad is to reach out to the hiring manager several times and still not get a response. Really????

gilead mgrs really believe that only THEY are important and that reps are completely without value. it is their coaching that sells not the rep. therefore, you don't exist. therefore, you should not expect anything at all.

Call from your favorite gastro office and even have your doc ask why he he doesn't call you back. Does he do that to docs too?

exactly what we are saying about the ranexa idiots. crappy attitude has to do with YOU! as in this post. clean up your act and maybe people will begin to respect you jerks at ranexa. accept the fact that reps talk across divisions and the poop that has gone on with your team is absolutely ridiculous. a bunch of gossips that need to spend more time selling and less time stabbing each other in the back. what a bunch of LOSERS!

Hahahahahhahaha Ranexa rep must have got the job you wanted, clean up our act? What are you a middle aged woman, if you aren't you talk like one. Stabbing in the back is the trademark of Gilead, please don't try and put it on IHD. Also, which ever group you are apart of, we should call the douches, cause you sound like one you, douche, should I have written in caps to emphasize?

Call from your favorite gastro office and watch your hiring manager squirm. I'm sure you have friends that would do this for you after explaining the "circumstances" I would even have your Doc get a hold of him and pass the phone to you. The Doc could ask him if this is Gilead's policy of being Rude "A" holes?

That's a decent idea.

I know that many corporations have a 'no rejection call' policy. Companies are fearful that they will have to deal with upset candidates. Not to mention they fear that someone might cry sexism, racism, ageism... You name it. The less interaction the better in their eyes.

As far as the rejection, I consider it fortunate in a way. It's for sure a great opportunity. However, considering Gilead paid $11.2 billion, the goals have to be unbelievably high. It will take at least 3-4 yrs for them to break even. Not make money, break even. In that time, the HCV market will have completely changed. Which means at $11.2 billion, its a considerable risk. If another company comes into the space with a new type of product, better product, etc. it could destabilize the sales structure in Gilead's HCV division.

Time will tell. Good luck to those who got the jobs and to those who did not.

There is nothing wrong with sending a computer generated thanks, but no thanks letter. It is so unprofessional of them to not let you know.
