reimbursement and access

yes...by all means talk to people that worked with him at Pfizer. I seriously doubt you'll find anyone who thinks of him as a dynamic leader or has any respect for him. No one who knows him would have written that last post. He probably posted it himself.
Really Jeffie...that is sad.

No, I would rather let these kool-aid drinkers do some fact finding. They will be very surprised to see the Pfizer vault is empty.

C'mon man. You know our Pfizer Mgd Market guru was suppose to bring all sorts of pearls and historical treasures on how to gain superior access. The vault is empty because all of Pfizers products are T3 or worse. That is why they throw thousands of reps at their products.

Assuming pfe hire was a solid choice 1st mistake. This particular pfe hire an even worse error. The bubble will burst. Just duck and cover when it does. That is if u can get the knife out of your back.

Dude, the dead wood that you recruited from Pfizer helped tank the specialty business because they had no experience or perspective. Pfizer's managed care and leadership team was pill and capsule focused. Do you really think they are going to suddenly going to become Specialty pharmacy saavy over night? The Pfizer thread of rejects within Vertex is amazing and representative of the in bred dysfunction you should expect.

I agree!! Management was dazzled by the fact they came from Pfizer. Forget the fact that they dont know squat about Hep C. So, hire the sales force and sales mgmt from Hep C companies but yet half of our marketing team and most of our acct team have come from companies with no hep C experience. Way to go.

Does it really matter where people came from if you have good formulary access like you have? I am not having any problems and when I have had issues, my account manager has gotten them resolved quickly - and that account manager came from pfizer. Article this morning says Incivek had 75% of market as of June 17 data. Not much to complain about

The drug must be pretty good because word on the street is that success has NOTHING to do with the reps to this point. They are being outworked by Merck

My argument has always been that the science is so compelling, and the drug is in an area of such pent upanticipation that reps don't even matter. I dont kow what "out worked" means, but if the Vertex reps just show up and present their PI, a doc would almost have to be a fool to prescribe the merck drug. The differences in duration of treatment and SVR are just too stark.

75% of the market - Being available for market reimbursement is not the same as equal or better access you idiot

I love this...We've been approved for mere weeks, and already we're tearing our leadership down and saying how much they suck. If we believe that WE were chosen because WE were so great, then why don't we give these guys the benefit of the doubt, until proven otherwise?

If we're talking about the same person, I will agree that Pfizer is a dead company, with tons of deadwood and mediocre people. HOWEVER, if you just assume that 99% of PFE employees suck, and 1% of Pfizer's employees are excellent, that adds up to over 800 great employees who are too valuable to accept the status quo at PFE, and therefore some of these folks who end up at places like VRTX will likely be some of the good ones.

Having worked there for decades, I can tell you that this individual is one of these "Finite Few" people, and in fact I would say that he was the best colleague I ever worked with at Pfizer or elsewhere. He will never brag about his accomplishments, but he's been incredible in sales, sales management, strategy, new products, managed markets and multiple other roles. He is always first to give others credit, but when you look below the surface, he's ALWAYS been instrumental to the big wins and key gains his teams have achieved.

Before you knock the guy because he doesn't walk around espousing his successes, take a minute to find out about him. Ask people that have worked with him in the past - there are plenty at VRTX that have. Spend some time with him...it won't take you long to realize that he will be a great leader, and someone that you can trust. How many people can you say that about at Vertex?

He has spent his career ballooning his ego with few successes. Please list his successes.

Just get out and sell the damn drug and stop complaining. I was told you guys were the best of the best in terms of reps and that is why you got hired here. You were experts in product knowledge and managed care.

Why do you call me with stupid ass questions about reimbursement that a primary care rep could answer? Incivek is at parody with Victrilis so end of story.

Managed care has given Incivek the equal access opportunity to VicT. We have always known that the Vrtx sales force would raise the issue of reimbursement or access as an excuse which will be seen by mgmt as reality if sales mgmt keeps beating the drums over lack of equal access. I wish our sales force new how to sell. They were all hired from companies where their products had better access than the competition.
