Regeneron Cup is a huge disappointment

I've won multiple times at every company I've been with. I can tell you this:

NOTHNG compares to Celgene I&I trips. NOTHING.

Pure fun. I took trips to Spain, Greece, Bali and they were 10 days. That's right. 10 days. Didn't have a single thing required, but could take advantage of multiple excursion per day if I wanted. They also gave me and my wife a $1000 debit card just for incidentals. Flew business class. Five start hotels.

Celgene I &I trips got me out very early every day and kept me out late making calls and impact.

Vanished world.

glad you still live in the past

Bitch whines on the BMS board and now here

Agree with the Celgene comments. I was fortunate enough to go to Florence , Italy
Dublin , Ireland and London , England.

I didn't make all those trips, but I made Dublin, Greece, Bali. Sick to my stomach that I missed the New Zealand Trip. Hottie in Austin beat me out.

Yep, Celgene I&I was legendary.

Indeed. No other companies ever traveled to those places for award trips. So jelly!!!!!!
It wasn't just the trip locations. It was the attitude that the trip was for me and and my spouse as a reward. No corporate functions. No required dinners. Just relax and everything was paid for. It really recharged my desires and for the duration of my time there, I went out and hustled because of those trips. Everyone in the sales force was motivated by them. Imagine flying business class to Bali and being given 10 full days to relax for free.

GSK Baltic Sea cruise, 10 days in surrounding countries, including stops in Stockholm and Helsinki, business class flight, and the trip was free.

No other companies ever traveled to those places for award trips for that many days with an upgraded flight. So jelly!!!!!!

Let's be honest. We got lucky with dup. Hit a grand slam.

But it's all we got. 99.9999% of profits.

Because it is such a machine, we got arrogant. We are just like Sanofi except we thing we are good.

And we have a cult of weirdo's who live for Tarrytown. Weird.

About 4 years ago, a manager friend of mine said to me "Make no mistake. Regeneron has corporate meetings not incentive trips." I'm here to tell you that is the truth. My wife and I went last year. We took one look at the schedule and really don't want to go. It was exhausting trying to hang out with everyone and the atmosphere seemed quite superficial. I won't go into too much detail as I won't want to expose myself, but let's just say certain things were brought to my attention where parties afterwards knew who I interacted with, spent time with, and didn't spend time with. It was as if they acquired intel from the trip. It wasn't necessarily bad stuff, but it made me feel uneasy. I thought to myself, was my wife and I required to spend time with this person. Should I have had drinks with them during the reception? Truth be told, we just wanted to have a nice relaxing vacation and spend time together. Incentive trips are meant to be an awarded vacation. This certainly is not. It is something meant to go back and tell your colleagues where hopefully they get excited to shoot for next year.

The reason for this post now? A team member won this year. Apparently, everyone was told the flights are pre-booked with no flexibility. They also confirmed what I already knew. The schedule was a glorified Vegas-Like meeting. I don't think it is a happy bunch this go around.

Just give a cash bonus so employees can use it to take a decent vacation. I've never once heard someone say "I'm so excited to vacation with my coworkers." They already watch us like hawks in Vegas and all of our social expected "networking." Sad you didn't win? Realistically, don't be. It is a gift that really isn't a gift.
Yeah I heard that too! Just give me the money!
