Recent Sales Training Class

From someone who was there...nothing happened. It was unorganized, unhelpful, unprofessional, and generally a waste of time. I did hear that EG threw a senior rep under the bus to cover her ass, don't know if that's true..but it sounds like the Genoptix Way.....blame anyone but yourself for anything that goes wrong and you'll succeed here.

Blame storming is an important agenda item at sales mgmt meetings

She almost got him fired and no one from upper management stood up for him. I'm glad to hear he found a new job.

The only useful stuff I learned at that "training class" came from the rep who was helping. You're right about it being AP. I dont remember his last name but the A is right. Seemed like a good guy, definitely didn't do anything to hurt the class. I'm starting to think my recruiter may have fibbed a bit about this place.

The grapevine is buzzing. One story is evaluations for some trainees were negatively changed by the training manager and RD. Another is RD and HR person were intentionally making goals too high for one or more trainees to meet, setting them up for a pip.

I know a lot has been said regarding the incompetency of the sales leadership, but the relatively new HR people are ... well, just dumb. I've never seen such a dumbing down of any department as this current HR team. Another "shame on you" Genoptix moment.

This company cannot, will not, and more importantly doesn't want to change. Novartis didnt buy us for the BM business; it was for the lab. It was cheaper and faster for them to buy us then to create a CLEA approved lab for their "companion diagnostics". If only a handful of patients in a DSC's territory get switched from Gleevac to Tasigna, Novartis makes more money then all the BM that DSC could possibky bring in.

Guys please wake up, the gravy train is over. You are being held accountable for business that our parent company couldn't care less about. That's why we are losing our edge in the market place.

DSCs are obsolete now; they aren't even backfilling our positions, hell they didn't even backfill the Northeast RD spot. Think about that, we are probably the ONLY national lab that doesn't have an RD for the NY//NJ metro area. How is the same guy running Iowa going to be able to help NY.

Instead of laying us all off, they're going to make life tough so people leave or get fired. That will cut down on severence severely.

In the end ask yourself....Are you happy here? Do you want to work for downsizing organization? Do you want to fight hard for your clients only to be bludgeoned with lackluster corporate solutions or our "legal team" handcuffing you at every turn?

The grass is most definitely greener, simply because at Genoptix no ones watering the lawn anymore.

I nominate this line to be our new corporate saying. I was clinging to a false hope for a long time. But now I feel abandoned by this company; my clients are starting to feel it too. This ship hit its iceberg a long time ago.

There is a Recruiter on Linked In trolling for Genoptix.

A few folks I know were contacted.

Should they even entertain the thought?

Thanks

Unless you ABSOLUTELY have no choice, and by that I mean your mortgage is going into foreclosure and you can't put food on the table, then yea...MAYBE you should consider it.

But remember this company has a CRAZY non-compete and once you join will lock you out of the lab industry for 18 months.

The day you get hired, call a recruiter and try to get out.....I'm being very serious.

Listen.....please...don't come here.

I can promise you that 1) you'll regret it 2) the person that left the position your filling had a party the day they left. There are NO internal promotions so they either left/got fired. Ask your recruiter that...lets see what line of crap they feed you.

Which region are you looking in? Some/Most of the regional/DMs are absolute nightmares.
