Questions for current reps

NO it is NOT! You dipshit!
My reply about the fixed allowance being taxed was not meant to insult you or Amarin. Only to inform. If you informed your auto insurance company about your job and.monthly mileage, your rates most likely increased. That being said, some companies have better benefits, some worse. Regardless, I bet there are many who would be happy to have your job.

Does that mean we won’t get offers until AFTER December 28th? I lost my job in June and I am counting on this position! I’ve worked for other pharma companies and Amarin seems different in a great way!

Omg move on then. Go with another offer! Quit stalking our page asking about when you will get an offer... maybe you aren’t the right fit!

First of all, this is my first post on this board. I was told by my “manager” that HR would release the positions between now and ADCom next week! This is the first time I’ve posted on this board. When I read about the December 28th date which was very different from what I was told, I was concerned. I thought someone may share additional info. No reason to react this way! I understand why a company may wait but I don’t understand why the manager will give me misinformation. If that is the case I would expect the managers to proactively reach out to those they have said “they are hired” and tell them their offer will delayed until December 28th after FDA approval. That is the right thing to do! By doing this they can also find out whether or not that person has accepted another offer and they can start interviewing other candidates. I expect transparency in this process as I believe they expect transparency from me. Amarin does seem like a good company to work for. Before someone says reach out to the manager, I have!! I was told this just last week. If for some reason it is different, the manager should be professional and reach out to their prospective hire, after all most likely we will be working together!

Understand that this is the way this company operates. In the late summer and fall of last year, when Amarin undertook it's first expansion, many reps received offers and had their start dates pushed back. Some had their start dates pushed back for a month or longer - much longer than what they had expected and/or had been originally told. The excuse provided was "We're a small company and our HR department is overwhelmed with all the new hires and training classes." By now, HR should have this down. Also, please do yourself a favor and get yourself out of your Honeymoon mindset - it will not serve you well once you are on board and have the done the job for a couple months. You are setting yourself up for disappointment and you are best served with a more realistic, grounded mindset toward the job. Like most Pharma jobs these days, much of the time, you will be banging your head against the wall trying to gain access to your targets, working to meet the catering needs of your offices, collecting sample signatures, and doing a little Vascepa promotion along the way when opportunities to "sell" present themselves. And expect micromanagement, as it's very much a part of Amarin culture and rampant in the industry today. If you're lucky, you'll have a decent manager. Also, remember that your base salary at Amarin is below industry standard, you are probably not going to make the $36K+ maximum annual bonus (most reps don't come close to that), and you will work under the risk of job loss due to the company becoming an attractive acquisition target. Good luck!

Honest answer. Your DM doesn’t know anymore than you know. November 14 will answer your question on if expansion will happen or not. The C suite and not middle management.
