Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies List

Re: Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies Li

If it is such a great place to work, why does Quest have the moderator review all posts before they are posted. The other labs do not do this.
What is Quest afraid of!!!

Re: Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies Li

Gee, I guess they never spoke to any employee. While the testing may be good, the company is horrible! We are treated horrible and the management team SUCKS

and how! specially when n.d. gives the pretend giggle-coconspirator-friendship thing and you know n.d.'s about to drop some ridiculous bomb on you

Re: Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies Li

Quest is the worst company I've ever worked for.
Read these posts there is a common pattern here.
I pray to God that they fail. May Quest Diagnostics
burn in ever lasting hell.

Hell is hot. It ain't the fibrin clots from the CBCs Quest would be most angry about, but the since hell is eternity, and hell would be the new HQ, then any time metrix. like turn around time would be all over the place and surely late.

Hell would not destroy Quest. They would keep one or two late shifts going as to not to shut down the operations completely. Hell could not destroy the central division. I'm sure those folks would still have quota. There are two DSMs in that divsion who would put any rep on a PIP if they didn't make quota while trying to sell from hell.

And the worst part of all - no more ice in the courier cars. No more esoteric testing. Quest would have to find a way to keep the blood - vampire or not - stablized with the exessive heat.

If anyone needs to get around down there, it's like home to Surya should be able to show you around.

Re: Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies Li

as an x-employee,Quest is a bad company to work for. Their testing is not on the up and up. Specimens left for 2 day unrefrigerated yet they tested them anyway. These were not correct results. They are also racial. Since New jersey took over.

Re: Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies Li

Qust Diagnostics sure does suck. Since NY merged with NJ it has been downhill all the way. They do not care at all for their employees as well as for their patients. They say they do, but they don't. They have become very racial. Whites are now the minority and get fired for the least litlle thing. Blacks and hispanics are the main employees and get away with everything. Blacks need to murder someone to lose their job but again the rest of the blacks will just stand behind them and cover it up which is what they do best. I am a white person who recently was fired for complaining about all the physical abuse I was getting form a black co-worker. I have scars to prove it. HR stood behind the black person (they were black also). My complaints were unanswered and the abuse continued, until I was fired for complaining and threatening to fight back on my own (I was looking into getting an order of protection to keep this particular float away from the site I worked at). I now have a lawyer and a case with the NYS Div of Human Rights for 2 things, discrimination and retaliation. Found out today the one person who can help my case has been let go (forced to retire) - COINCIDENCE? - I think not. I hope Quest pays for all the suffering that they put their employees through. If you work for Quest you give up your life.

Re: Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies Li

There certainly is no shortage of people with negative things to say about Quest. Add me to the list. I know of NUMEROUS patient tests that this company got wrong and then swept under the carpet to give the appearance of proficiency and productivity. This isn't spilled lemonade at a lemonade stand, it's patients lives. It's a dirty, stinking company. And this will be a well-deserved class action lawsuit.

WOW:

I can see why you would have been an asset to your manager. It is clear you have more education than anyone you worked with. Management made a great mistake letting you go. Those poor simple managers must have just misunderstood your value and level of education. I hope you will find employment with the competition, so you can show them!

All those spelling mistakes I could endure, but I bet not many people can endure being around you and your snootiness.

Re: Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies Li

Quest Diagnostics is one of the all time worst companies I have worked for. The management style seems to be based on fear and intimidation, rater that respect and encouragement. The pay is low for the field. The company does not care about the employees. Your low pay job is constantly held over your head to ensure that you stay submissive. Just thinking about working there makes me want to cry. I am glad I moved on to a job where I am at least seen as a human being.

I just read your post, and you are 100% correct. I've never worked for a company who
values its employees less than Quest. You might think that because technologists are
what makes the company work they would treat us better. During the last year
Quest laid off many techs, most of whom had 25 years of experience. They got rid
of just enough young people so they wouldn't be suspected of targeting the over-50
crowd, but that's exactly what they did. Why would they turn their backs on all this
experience and knowledge? Could it be the upcoming healthcare costs for those of us
over 50? I never thought I'd be grateful to lose a job, but I am so glad to be out of
there, even if I have to go through all my savings it's better than being there. Folks
tell me I look 10 years younger after having been laid off.

I agree that Quest blows, but I dont agree that somebody with 25 years experience is so much more valuable than somebody with, say, 5. Squatters love to say it, but it's not true---not in a lab-----I suppose NASA should have engineers with decades of experience leading missions, but 25 versus 5 in the lab is a non-starter. Not much difference. Doesnt take 25 years to be highly proficient in a lab, and to be able to deal with various scenarios and crises. Watch, now some squatter will post and call me some names.

Agreed. Better performers should be rewarded NOT tenured employees. No matter if you are a top performer, you also have to be an ass kisser to have a career here. Do not tell anyone the truth, tell them what they want to hear...like " yes, I can do a Sunday conference call, or " this place is a great place to work" and don't forget " sure, I'll drive more growth for less pay". They love that last one. May even get you promoted.
But if you are successful in the ass- kissing area, you may eventually get into the "club" where you will make BIG bucks for destroying an entire BU.

Re: Quest Diagnostics Named to FORTUNE Magazine's America's Most Admired Companies Li

OMG, this is amazing! My wife works for Quest and tells me everyday how awful it is to work for Quest. Sometimes I couldn't believe some of the stories that she used to tell me about how people are treated there. It's so shocking to see so many other people with the same opinion and this thread goes back a few years. That's really sad.
