Nothing to do with Q? When you acquire a product, part of the due diligence is the IP. Are you telling me there was no work done to understand differentiation between EoFlow and Insulet's tech? This is obvious and standard risk assessment so you don't inherit hidden problems your target might be hiding. Maybe I should design a counterfeit Edwards valve tomorrow and get Medtronic to buy me out too because apparently they don't even check if my product infringes on the market leader's product lmao

This place is littered with failed acquisitions. Growth at all cost; the GE way of doing business. Look at the wasteland left over from the Covidien acquisition…..yes there were tax advantages but we are still trying to get rid of the turd smears left over from the Omar-Hanson led plan.
How many strategic partnerships/acquisitions were killed AFTER it completion? That would be a great study in incompetence, greed & hubris

Retaining leaders like Que thinking it will solve our problem in diabetes just highlights we have a serious issue at the top. GM should be out on his ass.

Remember though Geoff said "look in the mirror" for who caused our problems. He thinks outsiders are the key to success and he likes to think of himself as an outsider when it suits him.

And yet Ardian and the AF projects are both coming from teams and leaders that have been at medtronic a long time…. Meanwhile Hugo? Digital Surgery? How are those new thinkers doing for the top line?
 




I can’t believe people stay at that company. Medtronic Diabetes was respected and now a joke in the industry. Que has pushed out all of the remaining good people. Many good places to go that actually pay.

its very funny how sometimes MDT will bend over backwards to get coaching and mentoring and other interventions to make someone successful, and other times they will just writeup their failings and out the door they go... there have been so many voice your concern filings about Que since she arrived I 'm sure for legal reasons they have gotten her at least 1 coach to show they are taking the complaints seriously (the're not, actually) but optics matter.
 




They’re not taking it seriously because she’s a lesbian Hispanic woman. If she were non binary, Muslim, and part of the Burn, Loot & Murder chapter I’m pretty sure she’d have Geoff’s job by now. That’s the woke world we live in. Imagine everything that goes against the fabric of society, where morals and ethics don’t exist and you must be a victim.
MDT has countless DEI idiots like this woman and it’s one of the main reasons the company is in the toilet

She can't stand people who are lazy, incompetent, or don't follow through. The results speak for themselves and she's turned the biz around with some great leadership in place.

Shes chased away great people, not lazy, not incompetent, but people with integrity that grates against her results at any cost mindset. Just another Geoff flunky who will will mark a few years and then parlay "success" into a bigger job somewhere else, unless the board makes her CEO...

I've seen this happen within the industry at another company. A manager ruined an entire group but they had a coach so all was good. HR was actively trying to steer me away from naming him directly when I left in my exit interview. So many others named him.

This was my first experience with a high level narcissist. Everything he did was about how he looked. The business be damned. He was fired after a year and never posted another job on his LinkedIn.

Narcissism runs high in management circles. Those types will throw any dissenter under the bus to look better. You have to lick the boots to be in good standing with them no matter how irrefutably wrong they are on something. You can't do your job properly and look good at the same time with many of these managers.
