Agreed. Hiring from within should not be mandatory by any means, but should weigh heavily in the process.

Let's face it, I've only seen people who have their noses so far up the asses of their manager and AD get promoted. I've also seen unqualified people in more than one of the "categories" that are supposed to set you apart get promoted while very good reps who don't gossip, play games and prefer to mind their own business are ostracized and eventually forced out. Teva management does not want honest reps, they want liars and butt kissers and people who are tow faced. We had the biggest "eddie haskell " in our territory and after 9 years he finally got promoted. Watching his tactics was sickening.
