Well, if you must suffer through a disaster, just make sure you live in a strong dem area.

The latest news is that FEMA has frozen spending including funds promised to the south and midwest for tornado damage. In Joplin, this includes funding to rebuild 4 public schools destroyed in the tornado. Promises and commitments were made, construction contracts began, and then FEMA pulled the rug out from under them. Why? So they could give the money to the east coast, a liberal strong hold. There is little national interest in the fungal infections that killed multiple people after the storm, caused by the sheer force of winds literally pushing soil fungi into the skins of people, causing systemic infections and death. An airborne variety is expected to continue to cause problems with infections to lungs, sinuses and eyes as the fungus was pushed into remaining building structures.

This insult is compounded by the fact the Army Corps of Engineers, completely mismanaging water flow, released so much water that it has flooded over 500,000 acres in seven midwest states. Many were only given 2 or 3 days notice the floods were coming. Levee breaks and failures were common place. The worst flooding began in June but disaster relief stations were not opened until August. Major interstates have been closed for three months now, and home and farmland damage is extreme. Depending on the area and source of information, water is expected to remain high for a few weeks to a couple months . What do you think will be left of a home or road after three to five months under water? Or farmland buried in sand? Many are still displaced from their homes but this doesn't even get mention in the evening news. And good luck getting help from FEMA since these are red states and the disaster was caused by the government. Those who disdain Bush should note Obama has not visited the area and even on his bus campaign tour, made no mention of the disaster.

Federally controlled programs continue to be a disaster and heaven help you if you have to deal with them. Of course no one in the midwest is looting or shooting people, so it will never make the headlines like Katrina. But the midwest knows who is supposed to be leading Congress and the Corps. They will not be forgotten or forgiven.

SPN, you have gone way over the edge with this thread.

There is no factual basis for what you spent alot of time typing about.

Are you shitting us? This is either the funniest or most paranoid thing I've ever read on CP. I can't decide which.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is suspending payments for some projects in tornado-ravaged Joplin because of immediate disaster needs along the East Coast after Hurricane Irene. Some spending for other storm-related and flood-related damage in other parts of the country also has been delayed.

But Missouri’s two U.S. senators are still angry over cutbacks facing Joplin.

“Recovery from hurricane damage on the East Coast must not come at the expense of Missouri’s rebuilding efforts,” said a statement from Sen. Roy Blunt, a Republican. “If FEMA can’t fulfill its promise to our state because we have other disasters, that’s unacceptable.”

Want a waiver from health care laws? Join a union.

Want a waiver from penalties and fees related to no child left behind? Live in a blue state.

Want FEMA money? Live in the DC corridor.

Fearing another Katrina, the federal government was a bit more ready to lend a hand this time around to those hit hard by Hurricane Irene. All they had to do was stop helping out those already suffering.

In order to afford help on the East Coast for victims of this weekend’s storm, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has suspended payouts in the Joplin, Missouri region for the moment to make funds available for those hit by the hurricane.

The death toll from this weekend’s tropical storm is at 26 as of Monday morning, whereas 116 were killed as result of the tornado that struck Joplin in May.

With a state of emergency being declared in Washington DC and Delaware and Puerto Rico being dubbed a disaster area, what’s left of the FEMA fund will be going out east while those in Missouri are left in the dust.

“The administration has let the fund reach critically low levels, putting continued recovery at risk, without a plan for the future or a clear method for dealing with new disasters,” House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) said on Saturday.

“Time and time again, the [Obama] administration has ignored the obvious funding needs of the Disaster Relief Fund, purposefully and irresponsibly underfunding the account and putting families and communities who have suffered from terrible disasters on the back burner,” added Rogers.

Please, SPN, stop trying to connect dots that aren't there - You are only digging the hole deeper for yourself and proving nothing except that you have become obsesed to the point where your better judgement is impaired and you are making yourself look foolish.

BTW, you are incorrect in noting that the death toll from Irene is 26, when in fact it is at 40.

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/08/30/hurricane-irene-death-toll-rises-to-36/

This storm was much worse on many levels than you think, and I suggest that you try to read up on it and come better prepared the next time before you post.

The tornados did much more damage (and killing) in the South and Midwest than Irene did.

The problem is that yankees are pussies and have no idea how to take care of themselves. We will find a way to survive. Yankees will become cannibals and killers.

Do you ever go back and read what you type before hitting 'sumbit reply'?

Other than attacking the poster, do you ever offer anything of substantive discussion? Are you claiming your 40 from the entire coast is more than the 160 in Joplin or nearly 300 in the south?

Allow me to answer that one!

BN, extremely rarely, if ever offers anything of substantive discussion.

All he can do is offer snide attacks.

Allow me to answer this one. Unless you're an evangelical, by the book, literal interpreter of the bible, you have nothing substantive to offer as far as MFAS is concerned. Freedom of religion is not an option.

Here let me strike another match and set your straw man on fire.

The truth is that I rarely argue from the authority of the Bible. I argue based upon facts, evidence, research which is something that you can't deal with.

You can't handle the empirical evidence and so you launch into insane attacks like this.
