Posts On The Playground

Like DD said, some people can't play nice in the sandbox. They want to act like spoiled little brats, bully people, yell and try to shout opposing view points down. There's a level of social acceptablility that we all have to measure up to. Sounds like you think your exempt.

You're not so be a man and deal with it.

I know I don't live in an alternate reality that you do, so maybe I am not understanding why you are saying that I think I am exempt when it is you who was just slapped down by the Mods.

Whatever floats your boat pal

Anyhow, the playground is most definitely headed in that same direction because certain posters have their agenda/ bring their agenda/force their agenda and want to be recognized for their agenda for some weird ass reason--no matter the topic! But whatever..if the shoe fits.

Well said . . .One 'certain poster' thinks that the Playground is his new Poli Board. Now, that's funny.

I don't feel that the certain posters you refer to above will get the Playground shut down as they are a small minority and their 'voices' are growing weaker with each word they type.

Count your whiny posts, you're the on bitching about being modded, not me. I was simply addressing your constant pissing & moaning about the mods along with your insinuations that I have favored status - which is a joke.

I've been reading CafePharma since it was created. I pop in and out and read what I want and comment when I feel like it. Sometimes daily, sometimes weekly, left for 8 months once and I returned to start reading and commenting again. Never had a need for anyone to like what I've written. Agreement or dissent..fine by me. Never reported any post or particular poster to the admins...ever. Never looked to make friends here, ahem..it's an anonymous website?

Sooo, not to be a suck up (and I'm not), but I have to agree with the mods in closing down the poli board. Although I like to read and listen to political commentary from various media, the same core group of posters on the CP poli board bitched and moaned to each other in their predictable ways. It became annoying, difficult to read, and frankly..boring. I can see why they shut it down. The topics were good but the discussions..childish. Must have been a real pain in the arse to moderate.

I haven't agreed with many of their moderating decisions over the years (never really important to me any which way) but with that decision...Amen! Their board..they make the rules...arbitrary or not. Anyhow, the playground is most definitely headed in that same direction because certain posters have their agenda/ bring their agenda/force their agenda and want to be recognized for their agenda for some weird ass reason--no matter the topic! Lastly (I can't believe you're still reading this-you must be over 40), pharma's heyday was more than a decade ago. The number of reps has decreased to less than half since then. Add in mergers, acquisitions, lawsuits, public perception of pharmaceutical companies (to include reps) and on and on and on <whew> leads me to believe that traffic to this website has to be waning. Winding down..jumping el sharko and dollars to donuts—it's been steadily decreasing over a period of time. So, Mr. Fiddler's epitaph for CP may be a bit premature but not by much.

Your last paragraph argues against your previous paragraphs. In light of the new realities in pharma, the last thing that would make sense from a business perspective is shutting down what was probably the most popular general board, the Poli board.

If the Poli board were still open, lots of our little buddies who like to whine about some of the rest of us being here would be a lot happier. I would be happy to pretty much stay on the Poli board and avoid the playground, but there isn't another place to discuss cultural issues and current events much less politics.
