I remember a DM in my region told two of his reps that they were safe and didn't have anything to worry about. They had a fine weekend but were let go. I am not sure what is worse, thinking your safe only to find out your not or wondering if your safe only to find out your not.

It was a horrible, horrible day.
 








In January 2009, face-to-face with leadership at a POA meeting, we were told that there would be no reductions in headcount that year (I wrote those very words in my notes that day). We were told that, if needed, they would let our inVentiv contract force go.

Well, by the end of August that same year, inVentiv was gone and so were a third of the BI sales force. After living through that, I realized that management will tell the sales force anything to keep them out there pushing hard. Things were not nearly so bad in 2009 as they are now (we were not facing a $400 million shortfall, for sure).

Will there be a 2014 Salesforce layoff? Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell. And DMs will know very little, if nothing, more than sales reps do. Our DM in 2009 was blindsided the day after he let several in our district go. Enjoy today and keep your ears opened for other opportunities just in case.
 




















You obviously didn't get the email about layoffs. I got one saying sales are safe. I am sorry you didn't choose sales here and so now are facing a layoff. I suggest the faster you move on with this the better you will be. We thank you for your home office support and I suggest to

This guy is right. BI would never lie to keep people from not working because of fear of layoffs. Plus, Empa will be so huge BI is hiring 16000 more reps due to strong demand of this novel drug.

You are not in sales. Do you get a PO at the office? No. You don't sell. You could take off for 6 months and no offices will call you. It is a joke.

I submitted for the 2014 medreps annual salary report and I am well below the average for my age and experience, looks like I have job security! Boehringer couldn't possibly find someone as good and dumb enough to accept what they are paying me!
 












Winning pc is a scam and a lottery, so many factors. You could be the best rep and at the bottom of the stack. Pc is in no way a reflection of reality. I have seen reps out on disability for 6+ months and move up sky high in rankings, if that isn't enough for you to understand how far from reality pc rankings are then you are a moron.

Pharma brass know PC rankings are a joke. Rankings are used to single out reps to be managed out of the company.
