Everyone here is competitive. The only way external candidates were hired was because of proven success. Hopefully leadership will realize the disparity among territories. Earlier they stated they understood this, now a ranking report? Obviously they don't understand it. Hopefully they will continue with a National & District component, because it will be totally unfair to financially hurt those that drew the short straw in regards to territories, while those that got major MS Centers have a built in success factor and are being financialky rewarded for business they had very little to do with generating.
YOU STATED THIS PERFECTLY! This is exactly what is happening. The only thing I would add is that individuals that received terrible territories didn't draw the straw. Certain managers have their obvious favorites and they received the territories with the best potential. Yes, it's that obvious. Coincidentally, these individuals will be subsequently promoted. Many of this was decided long ago.
I've been in the industry for over 25 years and have never seen anything like this before. Such an obvious disparity as you put it. It's truly sick. Yes, there is a huge disparity in the bonuses, but more importantly people are concerned about job security. How can you hire high performing individuals and give them nothing to work with? Absolutely unforgivable. There is no other division that has this kind of territory unfairness. And before anyone that wants to make a crack at this comment, we all have families to support and need job security. So what? People are supposed to stand up and clap for someone that was gifted a great territory and doesn't work any harder or smarter? This is absolutely ridiculous. There needs to be a realignment and the sooner the better. In the meantime, drop the rank report senior management. NOT COOL. You know the territories weren't carved out fairly and this is a ridiculous measurement of performance. If the territory assignments don't change, then they need to go to an MBO measurement. You want to have a rank report? Then carve out territories that are fair and give everyone potential.
Also, there is something inherently wrong with this culture. Everyone here has a tremendous need to constantly blow their own horn and do whatever it takes to kiss up to people like Amy. The same kiss-ups constantly have to make the most ridiculous and often dumb comments on conference calls just so they can make their voices heard and put in the spotlight. This culture breeds insincere suck-ups.
