Pharma Numbers Are Completely Phony!

I've been selling for Takeda 3 years in the Greater NY area. I've been at the bottom of Cresset, the top (won the trip to Hawaii), and in the middle third during my time here. I promise you looking at our weekly's after factoring normalization, there is NO WAY IN HELL they are honest with our numbers. We are getting RX's from several (as in 12 or 14 - two we were unable to contact) doctors who have never written our product, or who have never been called on!

I'm working on getting out of this industry fast, Takeda is absolutely controlling your pay. If you can't see this your totally blind. I'm looking for uncapped commission potential, I do not like being lied to.

This thread caught my eye. I no longer work at Takeda, thank God, but one thing I can verify because of first hand experience, is the numbers are around 20% accurate. This has been the case for many years. Upper management doesn't care whatsoever. It is a way to control bonus payout. If you actually got credit for what you really sell, you would be shocked.

The deck is stacked against you, and will always be. I am sorry, but that's the way it is. Takeda is an amazingly horrible place to work. Do yourself a favor, and take your holiday vacation time to look for another company to work for. You will be much better off.

That's why IMS refers to their data as a "projection". No one ever said it was accurate, if they did then they lied to you or just uneducated about the industry they work in. You live in NYC, there are plenty of 6 figure jobs waiting for you, don't even know why you bothered with pharma to begin with, living in the city.

Well, it's true, there are plenty of other 6 figure jobs in the NY area. I knew that but somehow I believed that pharma was going to be more lucrative - that is until 6 months post hire when things came into focus, I quickly realized people "in charge" (DM and RSD) along with my peers were incredabily unmotivated and simply playing lead roles on broadway about their responsibilities. I'm sure it's because of the environment that Takeda and probably Pharma in general has created. OK, so a 27 year old female with 3 years pharma on her resume - here goes! Wish me luck.

i could not agree more...however I think this is true for all these companies....this has been with the case with Takeda since I have been here...docs showing up that have never heard of the drug...which is good....but think of all those that are writing that don't show up.

Accounting folks can tell you very quickly that if sales reps actually got credit for what was filled at RX, we would all easily be 500% to goal. It's not hard for Takeda to calculate what is sold (bottles we actually ship) to the supply chain (McKesson, etc) on a consistent basis vs what is reported from retail Rx fills. HINT.....HUGE - or for Trump YUGE difference! We are getting screwed people!! Just the way the game is played.

the greedy aholes that run these companies have lost touch with reality

Absolutely no integrity could careless about patients or employees
Why do you think we have a socialist president?

Is this just at Takeda? If not, what other companies screw the numbers? Are there specific companies where this is not the case?

Trying to decide if I want to leave the industry.

Almost every Pharma company uses IMS for data mining. As long as you work in Pharma, and sell a drug dispensed in a retail pharmacy this is how it will be. It's not perfect, it's a projection. If you want to stay in Pharma and get away from this type of reporting, go sell an injectible and get into a buy and bill job. You could even stay at Takeda, post for the next open Entyvio job.

Stay in pharma - go to buy and bill. I used to call my orders in at the end of every day. Never had to wait on IMS data or reports. I got paid for what I sold. If I had no orders, I knew I didn't make any money that day.

BTW - this was when I was at Genzyme. I was laid off with the sanofi acquisition and am here now unfortunately. I don't think Takeda has a B&B division, except maybe Oncology/Millennium.
