Pfizer hires Mgt Consultant to reduce employee complaints

There is a huge morale problem and besides the obvious reasons to be disgruntled, there are other subtle reasons for it that often go unaddressed.

1. Employee morale is dampened by the management knows everything attitude of many immediate managers.

2. The check the box mentality that permeates everything we do is annoying.

3. Using terms like transparency vs truth. Transparency is like thinking out loud and it's a poor substitute for the truth in our business.

4. Onerous regulations. It's universal, it's our world, we live with it but none of that means we like it.

5. Evolving ethics. Most of us don't give a damn if a secretary has a shiny pen with our drug name on it or not but I will never be convinced that it was ever unethical to hand out a few pens or pads of paper.

6. Bureaucracy. Our slowness to act vs our competition is frustrating.

7. Technology. We are usually 2-3 generations behind.

8. Top down management style. I get it. It's easier for one person to just make a decision that affects everyone. Nobody likes a dictator though.

9. Changing the rules of the game from one year to the next. It's a horrible thing to do to people but you do it constantly.

10. Stupidity. It's evident in so many decisions and often obvious to those who must execute but by that time we are going down an unalterable path to nowhere. It happens over and over again.

Don't forget the "justify our job" mentality that is born out of every new initiative. The result is another layer of bureaucracy that destroys the company from within. Our company is a reflection of the country. We have the "makers" (r&d, sales) that create the wealth and the "takers".

Not true. The "makers" are the manufacturing and distribution operations. R&D and sales are the "takers" - a vast amount of money is spent on both of these dubious organizations and the return we get from them is pitiful. Of course, executive leadership takes an order of magnitude more but they have defined themselves as the only real stakeholders in Pfizer and so deserve most of the proverbial spoils.....

You seriously need to up your dose of Geodon and Pristiq if you really beleive this crap.

HILARIOUS! We are in a cost cutting mode..

Pfizer doing away with VPC upgrades. Nothing like saying thanks to the 10% of the sales force who go above and beyond. A huge morale builder thanks to Frank D'Tomato. Should look at the top heavy heirarchy first. Should do away with hundreds of thousands spent on one employee to helicopter to work everyday. Pfizer corporate has their head up their own a@@! Lets see if D'Tomato votes to give executives and board members reduced benefits of any kind. We will all be waiting until hell freezes over. I am a 5 time VPC winner. My work output will now be directly tied to how well my pay and benefits go up or down. Two can play your game D'Tomato.

Then who do you think is responsible for selling the products that are born through R&D, distribution and marketing have yet to put their boots on the ground to drum up sales & marketing does not even understand the market segment of the drugs they represent. You are an absolute joke.

The 10% of the sales force that wins each year is no more effective than the bottom 10% of the sales force each year.

Then pay us all the same and get off my ass about my numbers. And stay the fuck away from me when I'm in the field.

Also, I can't imagine the incredible profitibility of sales managers??? LMAO.

6 to 7 figures blood sucking parasites cutting my pay?
