So let me get this straight, you want your RMs to participate in role plays? Then what?

Yes. Then they will be better trained. Why would they not participate is the same training as reps.
Better trained for what? You all are complaining like somehow you are an equal to a manager and you're not. Sh*t rolls downhill, not the other way around. You don't like your manager? Go find a new job if your talent is that good.

This thread makes no sense to me. Having a/my manager do a role play does nothing for me.

Most would agree. However, role plays don’t help reps either.
The struggle bus is ready to make It’s first stop. Better polish up those interviewing skills
You don’t do anything...if you’re so concerned about taking care of people, what’s stopping you from doing it the 23 hours a day you aren’t earning your paycheckIf we get shut down again with another Covid spike, my hope is that ETHICON will not leave any flexibility to RSM’s about how the down time should be used. Last time, FSO had excessive and repetitive training on every product and category. It would be so nice the see the credo in action and do whatever we can to help in this pandemic. Community service, taking care of neighbors, family , friends, church involvement? I believe we just missed the mark last time and took the easy way and filled the time with summit and zooms. On top of that you had RSM’s trying to look good and capitalizing by adding even more activities.
we can do better!

The training here has been disappointing. I came from an industry and company that is known for having some of the best sales training that exists. A lot of focus was put into the technical side and having that knowledge about your product was expected. I was shocked when I joined Ethicon and saw that less time was spent teaching and more time was spent breaking out and listening to other reps. That is not done in other industries.
Signed. Why would they not participate? My manager has lots of interaction with customers. What do you think they are talking about?! Blows my mind that they don't practice AT ALL?!
However, I believe the whole exercise of role play is a time waster. If you have 10 reps and 1 rsm on a team, how many cumulative hours are spent to practice a role play? 20, 40 60? Get out and sell and stop wasting time checking the box. Real sales people don't sit around pretending to re enact some fake sales situation.
