PDI- I QUIT Board

Yes, "fair is fair" , you are correct! It is not professional or good business to make a job offer verbally and in writing then not follow through. If it's in writing, PDC needs to pay!

I think PDI offers different contract options for different rep coverage whether it be part or flex. Part of the blame lies with BI, not just PDI. They wanted cheap coverage for a few calls and didn't want to pay PDI a lot of money. Both came up with this awful scenario.

That's fine if there are different scenarios, just tell the rep what the scenario is. No one likes surprises especially with your career.

They didn't have many answers really. Just a training wage of 18.75/hour. I heard that and I bolted. I didn't even know the 40 mile rule. That's crazy. BI and PDI should be embarrassed.

Get a clue. Most companies operate that way. It is an IRS rule that you are required to deduct mileage as part of your commute to the home office even if you work from home.

Some companies choose to work this way others don't.

First off, Government Mileage Rate is .56 a mile. Get a clue yourself. Also what does the "so called IRS rule" have to do with using my new car for free? This couldn't have been posted by a rep!

Why is anyone defending this contract? You are not convincing anyone. There are 27 open FLEX postings on PDI website. Does that look like this contract is going to work if more people are quitting every day? Save your breath!

All true! Worked for PDI many years. It's a love/hate relationship for some. Love the selling aspects, but that is usually overshadowed by all the craziness. Poor communication, literally no tools for working in the field and the computer system is constantly messed up. I cannot imagine other companies being so unprofessional! It's like an abusive relationship.

You've worked for PDI for "many years" yet you hate it. Makes no sense.

I am not the OP, but please reread for clarity, you will notice he/she said love/hate, "loves the selling." 2015 job market is very competitive with this current economy. Many areas are still in a depression, no matter what the stock market says. PDI uses this to their advantage. Quit being so coy with your statement. If you are truly a rep posting this naive statement then you understand the situation and are just playing games. If you are a manager or home office posting, only God knows what you understand.

PDI is a CSO with some great contracts at times! You can actually work 29 hours or less to complete calls and admin. Current contract and call load unrealistic for part-time job making 19,000. per year! No consistent communication and DMs too new to know what they are up against.

You're shitting me. a current contract pays only 19k per year?

19k is the most I've ever made with PDI. They are the lowest paying CSO. DM still expects you get the calls done100% staying within 27 hours/week. If not, DM throws a fit like a 5 year old. It's ridiculous! Pay your people well, treat them with respect. Very easy!

My manager is awesome. I wish that our money was better though. Hard to make it on $19,000

Your car takes a beating, and most likely comes out to minimum wage if you kept track of every minute you devote to work.

PDI is awful. No communication at all. I asked questions and got no answers. The pay is junk and they make you take a company car even if you don't want or need it. Expense reimbursement is slow as hell. MD doesn't return calls or emails. Says that he wants you to be completely honest about the work and the company, but that is a set up. Don't be honest it he will then write you up for it. After I got the contract he tells me how awful the company is. Tells me the mgr, JM, is stuck in the Stone Age and the company doesn't have good products because they are too cheap to buy good ones and too cheap to research the market before a launch. Company is awful. You have to fight for every penny you make and that is if you get an answer at all.
