Payer Relations and Health Policy Manager

There are many of these positions posted. Any thoughts on the job and division? Culture? Salary Ranges? Any insights would be great!

Thanks!

Culture - Very strange.
Salary Range - High if you're a good negotiator.
Insights - Great if you can play the game and put up with tons of crap. Benefits are above average.

This company's culture is so corrupt. Not a meritocracy. No ability to speak your mind. Group think.

Bitter Betty!!!

We despise “feminazis” here (refer to the Abbott Vascular page). We will destroy any individual who tries to disrupt the good old boys club that includes mocking and dehumanizing women, gays and any other minority. If it were a true meritocracy, then there would be actual diversity but look around- Everyone is white male and old. Duh. Get used to it liberal. Miles WHITE runs this place.

I've been here for less than a year and so far I like my position and manager.
When I walk around Abbott park grounds and even in the A-14 cafeteria I've been hearing and seeing the older employees belittling some of the younger recent hires behind thier backs.
They make hand gestures and laugh and I heard them use the N word and bash LGBT millieneals.
while laughing. My college professor's who were older never did this. My parents told me to go to Human Resources and report them. I think I have a legal case that could pay my college debt off.
I'm sure Human Resources will help me prevail. Should I do it ?

I second this! Go away libtards! We only hire men named Mike or Matt or Bob.

Yes, HR is your friend. They will have your back 100%. Tell them everything you know. You won't be retailiated against for letting them know about this illegal conduct. They won't tell your manager either.
Call the ethics hotline first, then address it to HR department. You sound like a smart kid, you should prevail.

There’s nothing wrong with using the N word here at Abbott. Bashing gays is the Abbott culture. Get over it or get out.

Signed washed up manager who was reported by a “Millieneal” to HR and now I spend my time on cafepharma pretending to be a “millieneal” because we all know “millieneals” do not own devices that do auto spell check and “millieneals” are so not tech savvy to figure out how to find out the federal employment laws of ‘Mercia.

Fake post by a bitter AF manager who was reported to HR for their own bad behavior.

Good luck, my peer reported her manager and hr backed the manager. Three months later she was put on a performance plan and and eventually gave her notice. She had a mental breakdown and it took a year to secure another position.
The same manager was promoted and is doing the same thing in his new capacity. Don't go to hr, seek legal representation first.

Absolutely true. Get proof first of more then one occurrence. After that seek legal counsel. Truth is most of the managers will get very close to the line of the law and crossover if it gets them what they want. HR does not do anything....

The DOJ will get him eventually

My peer reported his manager in the diabetes division and after a months long investigation- it turned out she (the manager) had a history of bad behavior and she was given a pay cut as punishment and subsequently denied promotions she applied to. My coworker left the company soon after and he found a much better job at a much better company and is doing very well. Turns out his former manager is very bitter and she turns to cafepharma to post bitter retaliatory comments about millennials frequently- guess it all depends on how you look at the situation & truth in the end.

The managers are untouchable. They know the law and most employees don't.
