pay, benefits, interview

The base pay goes between $50k for someone right out of college up to mid $70's for more experienced people. My base is $60k right now. But if you have other options I would take them. You have no life working for Warner and the turn over is really really high. I don't personally know one rep who is happy here, but I'm sure there are a couple.

What is the pay structure/ benefits like?

How is the in person interview?

Is turnover really that bad for hardworking reps?

No family life at all?

Pay structure is about 52-70K base salary. You can make up to 25K (top 5% reps) in bonuses per trimester. My base was 54K and I made about 23K in bonuses in 2011. The benefits are good...excellent health insurance coverage through BCBS ($10 doctor visit copay; $10 or $15 generic Rx and $20 brand Rx; $50 E.R. copay). WC only deducts $20/month for singles and $50/month for couples/families so it's great if you're married and/or have kids. They offer term life insurance/short and long term disability/401k too. Company car is provided...usually a new Ford Taurus. The in-person interview for me was easy-going. The final interview they flew me out for was pretty much just a formality. They want a hardcore, type-A, go-getter that feels confident about holding doctors accountable and handling any objections. You will do a lot of "Med Eds" or dinners, so some of your nights are gone. They can be overwhelming and exhausting after a few months. Hope this helps.

Is warner the only company that hires recent college grads? I always see 2+ years of b2b elsewhere.

Pay is decent. Health insurance is great. Company car is a nice perk. Interviews aren't difficult if you're aggressive and driven. I've worked for WC for a year now and still love my job. As with any company, there are cons, but I have good products and am doing well. Turnover isn't very high in the Urology/gastro/women's health divisions. I wouldn't come to Warner if I wasn't hired for one of those divisions. Hope that helps!

Tell me what you think about the company after 2 years, if you make it that long. WC has the highest turnover rate in the industry by far. One position in my territory was posted before they even told the rep she was losing her job!

Ahhh the Red Flag arises....
"Holding Drs. Accountable"... If you know any Drs. Ask them how they would interpret this phrase in regards to how a representative should present medical information about their products. Which is all they are supposed to do. If you do not have any experience, try to ask reps you may know what this phrase means. It is Very telling as to the tactics this company forces reps to use to "influence/bribe" drs. Beware of this double speak.

You are why drug reps have such a poor reputation in the sales world. WC makes it no secret to anyone they are a sales organization first. Reps holding Doctors accountable for the commitments and promises THEY give is hardly a red flag or bribe. Just because they have MD behind their name doesn't give them the right to lie to my face, and I would expect anyone to call someone out that lied to their face.

Wrong answer, the doctor owes you nothing! There is no such thing as holding a doctor accountable. Exactly what does that mean? So if he doesn't prescribe your product, you will do exactly what? You have no leverage because you do absolutely nothing that benefits him. You see, you really do NOT sell a thing. The doctor gets nothing from your interaction.
