P4 Calls Today

East Coast rep and got cut...what a great day, good thing I got up extra early for the news...not that I could sleep after that extremely "transparent" cc last night...oh well....UPS here I come....roughly same pay, benies...drive around and drop off packages all day..just like contract PC pharma sales except I'll have a company vehicle (granted wouldn't want to take a date out in it), won't have to play dress up in 100 degree heat, no clown manager breathing down my neck in offices and stinking up my car two days a month...but by far the best difference is no more catering to offices who could care less about you and your products, just what's for breakfast or lunch or what extra orders they can place for their family's dinner that night...God it's so degrading sitting in a break room all by yourself, watching fatty after fatty gobble up their food without the slightest acknowledgment of your existence(really, who details office staff w/absolutely no medical knowledge or influence on the provider...and than of course getting 90 seconds with the provider...but as long as you get signature you're a superstar...thankful I'm young enough to get out now...wow that felt good!!!!!!!

Hold on I need to collect myself...I literally peed my pants from laughing so hard!!! Dead on job description!

Yardley Insider here: IN 2 WEEKS, AT LEAST 1/2 OF THE REMAINING PFIZER/P4 REPS WILL BE LAID OFF. Reps will only be retained in high-volume Lipitor territories. If you have a low volume territory, plan on being laid off. If there are 3 Publicis reps in your territory, plan on 2 of you being laid off.

The above post was on another thread. Seems pretty close. Was in a medium size city. 4 of us were cut to 2 of us a couple of months ago. Phone call came and only one of us covering the territory. Not me.

That was me posting. My RFC left the company 3 weeks ago and spilled the beans before he left. Stand up guy for doing that. 2/3rd's of the reps in our area got cut. I was kept but I'll definitely be looking for a new job come 2012. The Lipitor contract only buys us 6 months from the LOE date in November....

Thanks for the heads up. I saw this posting and it got me thinking the past 2 weeks. I really didn't think that I would be laid off though. My numbers have been the best in the area and I have worked really hard on this contract. This morning I just feel depressed. None of that mattered in the end and it all came down to territory and mine didn't have as much Lipitor business potential. I really feel misled over the past couple of months with this "exciting new opportunity" with the EPBU. Why would they have these exciting townhalls and then lay 2/3 of the people off? This makes me hate Pfizer.

I feel the same way. We were blindsided by all the hype. Pretty much lied too. Nothing but turmoil and uncertainty for months.

I think local Pfizer management made the (P4) decisions when they were determining the fate of their own team a few weeks ago. The June layoff was based on seniority with PSS. This time, the person retained in our area had a ride along with one the individuals making these decisions, so I can't really believe that it was based Lipitor "potential".

Oh well, on to greener pastures. Good luck to everyone who got cut.

That was never really an option (let me clarify, no national roll-out or plan to do so, very unique situations only), got it from a good source, and wouldn't you know it not a single post of a PC role kept..hmmmm...more of that famous Pfizer transparency I guess :)

2/3 of district gone also. Only EPBU in my old one.

Lesson learned! No matter the company, when there is a downsizing, good numbers don't matter as much as where you live in the territory.Sad isn't it!

I have been on this contract since day 1. Training = joke. Forced to room with strangers at worthless meetings = disgusting. Being treated like shit by my "teammates" = unprofessionable. Those hyped up conference calls = bullshit. My wife summed it up perfectly: "Fuck them."

Are there any P4 Primary Care positions in the Midwest? I was under the impression that they were extending it for many territories. My DBM knows nothing at this point and she is normally in the loop.
