Over 35 and still in Primary Care?

I lost any self-respect I had many years ago. I have a become a serial call liar, a cheat and an ass kisser with no equal. A trained monkey could do this job, and still they require a degree to even apply. The best salesman I have ever known sold cars and never spent 1 hour in college, and they would never even interview him because he has no degree! I go through my day brain dead and on autopilot. I wonder how many times I have said “sign here” in my career! I haven’t used a CVA unless I have my equally brains dead manager with me in many years. I am “sign here” expert.

This is not a profession. A PA or NP is a profession. We have a job and nothing more. Rethink why you are here and is this something you want to try and do for decades to come. If you stay, you will likely change companies 4 or 5 times, which is normal. Good luck Grasshopper!

We make twice what a PA or NP makes and we never have to look at anyone’s nasty genitals. We also don’t get worked like rats on a treadmill. It’s an easy gig for a good amount of money with flexible hours, free car and all the free food you want.

Look at yourself my man, if you're still in PC and are three years out of college into this field that's on you. Most people get out of PC by the end of year two or stay there forever.

And definitely not someone 3 years out. But fine, I’ll answer. A lot of the reps over 40 or 45 didn’t have to do the job you’re doing now. It’s a different industry, but also Takeda acquired multiple companies over the years. Most of the BUs at Takeda are crushing souls btw

NPs, at least in my area, make $140-160K. I know this because I've been dating one for a while.

Back to OP's "concern". There is no doubt that primary care reps have an extremely easy job. I know this because I've been able to give Takeda what they want and I've been able to buy more than one rental property with more than three doors an easy drive from the middle of my territory. I guess the bottom line is that I stayed in this division because it affords me to have a relatively stress-free work/life balance while having two sources of income.

Car sales is retail, bro. Not the same as organizing and running a territory with travel, etc. Also, you don't have the same technical questions in car sales.

As for 35 in PC, that is lower now. It is more like if you are over 30 and in PC, you have issues. Get out of there as soon as possible.

Those oncology and vaccine reps, are also clueless. Selling terrible products that do more harm to people than improve health. Living with that lack of self-awareness must be painful. You must be very dull people to hang out with and have as friends. Do any of you actually read the contraindications or side effects of your products? Life is not about money, people. Grow a brain out of your rear ends.
