MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A Morgan County dad was in jail Monday because police said he confessed to murdering his 19-year-old son.

Morgan County Sheriff Robert Downing said 49-year-old David Carrender admitted to shooting and killing his son, Wyatt Carrender. The shooting happened Sunday evening inside Carrender's home in the 6600 block of Crooked Creek Drive. Police say the teen's girlfriend witnessed the shooting.

Neighbors heard the gunfire.

"I heard a series of 4-5 gunshots real quick," said Tony White, who lives across the street. "I heard what I assumed was the young boy's girlfriend scream. She was asking him (the father) why he had done it. She was just in terrible shape."

White said the Sunday argument was not the first time the father and son went head-to-head. White said his wife witnessed a similar scene earlier this summer.

"They got out in the yard and got to fighting , screaming. Someone was yelling, 'Put the gun away, put the gun away.'* Nothing really happened after that incident. That blew over," said White.

Sheriff Downing says his investigators are looking into previous incidents where police were called out to the house but he did not have further details. Downing says alcohol appears to have played a role in the shooting.

"It appears at this time the father had been drinking during the day according to witness statements," said Downing.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday morning.

David Carrender was being held in jail Monday without bond.

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. — An apparent fight over when to quit watching football turned deadly when a man fatally shot his teenage son, authorities say.

David Carrender, 49, was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. ET Sunday on a preliminary murder charge after his 19-year-old son, Wyatt Carrender, was shot to death in the family's home about 20 miles southeast of Indianapolis.

Morgan County Sheriff Robert Downey said the Carrenders had been watching football games at a restaurant and bar when they started fighting over whether to return home.

The son wanted to go home. The father did not. The argument continued after the pair returned home, Downey said.

What the Hell does a Clinical Trial Supply Manager do?
Supplies clinics for trials, which all have failed lately.

If you will recall, Lilly had it's own clinic, to which clinical trial participants could return for free medical care for their entire lifetimes. But then Lilly pulled the plug on it. That's okay, now they have Obamacare.

Is that the clinic where the Bible college student took her life while megadosing Cymbalta?

The guy worked in bldg 110 years ago. Since the late 90's people that have worked in bldg 110 have been arrested and convicted for: insider stock trading (hauled out by the Feds one day, disappeared), synthesis and sale of methamphetamine (out of prison now), statutory rape (repeated offense with a 13 year old, never served time in prison because the girl would not testify), rape (the "normal" type, currently serving a sentence in Illinois), and now murder (of his own kid no less).

If only they could focus on "answers that matter."

Those would make for an interest work of fiction.

I remember the GS story, making meth in Bldg.45 (a process lab), probably mid 90's or so. Did not get much of the details..can you share more details?

GS was originally in bldg 110 btw. If I recall, he was behind on his deliveries and in a hurry so he ordered kilos of ephedrine from Aldrich Chemical. The Feds keep track of the companies that order chemicals that can be used to manufacture drugs like that but don't get alarmed if a company like Lilly orders them unless 99% pure meth with a 99% ee (gotta be a chemist to know what that means) hits the streets of Indy. No turpentine or other hardware store solvent residues, just pure unadulterated meth. Stuff that clean can only come from a handful of places in Indy (Lilly, DowAgro, IUPUI, etc.) and from someone that really knows what he or she is doing. So, the Feds start looking into what company in the area has ordered ephedrine or something similar and followed the trail.
