Wow! Been in Pharma for 20 yrs and have never seen something so out of whack statement wise. Formulary drives the tier for availability but when you have meds overridden on PA's as a less desirable tier status that should tell you something.
Yes, it tells you that Suboxone Films are easier to divide up and distribute with an exacto knife, and is a more recognizable name on the street, so patients ask for it. Once patients get used to how to divert Zubsolv they won't care.
The offices definitely don't care. Remember, they started their Suboxone clinics for easy money, they're not going to make it harder than it needs to be. They will cave and write what the MCOs require them to write, which will be whatever is cheapest.
...And the cheapest is generics, not Suboxone or Zubsolv. This is a generic marketplace.
