Opening (Lung)

I saw an opening for a position for a Clinical Specialist, Lung and can't find anything about this division on the boards. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Thanks

NO...I am actually thinking of applying. Believe it or not, these boards can be very helpful during a job search if you can sift through the nastiness. It can be very difficult to tell which drugs are actively promoted by a company since there are always more listed on the site. You have two that I can find, but not sure if one, or both. It is strange to come on someone's boards and not find threads about a particular division, so I figured it must be really small.

Salaries are from 100k to 130k to start depending on experience. You can get a company car or use your own(use you own, trust me) standard benefits and a $600 towards a gym per year. After 6yrs you get 6 weeks off, a sabbatical. The company is pretty much a standard pharma company that tries to say they are different because of the culture. I have been here 8 yrs and the products are great and the mgrs are not. It's an interesting place but, not bad by anyones standards.

Lung cancer team, with two mature products and 3 reps - 2 lung and one GI per territory who you will live, eat and sleep with if you know what is good for you. You will NEVER be alone except maybe if you work on Fridays when the senior reps are usually off (maybe even Monday). View it as a stepping stone to other onc opportunities though you'll be stepping on the same rocks as many other people going for single rep territories and if your "stories" aren't crisp, concise and well practiced, you won't go anywhere. Hope this helps!

It does help. I'm really surprised there is overlap. I've worked alone and in teams and it's really hard to tell your story when it is twisted up with someone else. I really dream of the day I can leave this industry, but it is just too good a job despite it all. Even though I would make more money at your company, I think I will stay put where I am and use my extra time to focus on what else I can do in a year or two. Thanks again.

the edits on this thread are evidence that for some reason it is okay to discuss anything on CP, accept anyone willing to clarify the facts surrounding the Competitive intelligence mining that goes on here. weird.

Good choice, I no longer work there having lived the twisted world of BioOnc and now have cover a territory by myself.

to the prior poster ranting that no on one mines or trolls on CP, you might wan to take a look at the open position with Genentech. The CIM, SR Manager in San Fran. Most likely a good fit.

Ok.....I'm breathing. Now seriously, is this a really tiny division?[/QUOte

catching on I think, this could very well be a loaded question... they coudl have thrown it out their to in an effort to hope to gain an understanding of the details of what could possibly be seen as new or expanded sales force...possible scenario: someone assigned to do a competitive landscape report for a respiratory competitor market project... we know they mine career sites. We could assume they see a job posting that coudl be respiratory focus (Lung)... quickly the pressure is on to figure out size of sales force, product etc... every effort made to fill their firms claim of being the first to inform their on any market changes or new entries...Be real, this type of simple information is NOT available publicly.... so they could toss out an anonymous posts like the one above on CP, and wait and see if anyone connects some of the dots for them

hmmm. when I first read this I thought, who cares? they try to figure out what the competition does in a market. Then I thought about it, and it is mis-leading us. It is like parasites...making money off this and then I am sure these posts are just the tip of the ice burg of how they get people to spill.

You have too much time on your hands. Stop thinking so much. Sheesh...
