I have been with Novartis for well over 10 years, surviving two layoffs. No matter what happens, it has been a wonder career journey for me. I have met many wonderful people, with a couple becoming good personal friends. I wish everyone good luck. Remember, it is just business. Don't take any decision personally.
 












1) cuts to all levels coming: RD, ABL, SS
2) 20-25% sales reduction with some being offered virtual positions
3) Z S associates was involved but different scenarios were presented based on geography and business potential.
4) new roles will be available to apply for : ie NGE etc
5) executive team is calling this a right sizing not a down sizing or layoff
6) portfolio selling starts 5/1
7) it’s been baked. Your ABL might not know for sure what team looks like 100% but safe bet it that they have a good idea who is safe and who isn’t
8) severance and early retirement packages are better than Aimovig team got

Every time there is a layoff, there are always that small handful of clueless people who know nothing and are surprised when they are cut. Congratulations to you and your ABL for being "those people"! Leadership actually has done a decent job of dropping hints since last summer. Kudos to them. Many of us are prepared for what is coming. Why don't you and your ABL hit the field together and get those APEX invitations distributed in your territory? :D:D:D
 








Medical already went through this a few months ago. As for the sales reps, there’s a new position/title being created and it will not be ESS and SS. No one knows exact date yet but was told feb/march with the goal to be April 1 for transition/intros before may 1 trimester begins. If Novartis stays true to how Novartis does you will be able to apply for other jobs within the organization. Start networking with cardio/crm. Lots of postings on that side and they won’t go through this for another 1.5-2yrs due to launch.
 




I was Gilenya rep who worked my ass off to launch the drug. Then we were forced to the Aimovig team. Very little opportunity to stay in MS. They we all got canned after 1.5 years. Now look at the Kesimpta and Mayzent reps 1.5- 2.0 years then boom canned. This industry pays good but you will be looking for a new job every 2 years.
