OK, lets try honesty. Salary, like most things here, can be negotiated.
Internal candidates who get promoted tend to get between 15% - 20% jump in base. So, depending on where you are, do the math. For you public school kids out there, if you make $80,000 now, you will get $92,000 - $96,000 in base.
External candidates tend to come at a higher price tag due to Oncology experience. Most were hired in between $120,000 and $140,000 in base.
Bonus is $30,000 at target but good luck hitting target on a consistant basis. Nothing to do with the drugs (although Aloxi is saturated in about 90% of territory accounts), it is because management is allowed to adjust goals and product weighting on a quarterly basis. Once again, for the public school kids, this means not everyone has the same lead drug, so not everyone gets the opportunity to make the same amount of money on each product. On average, you will make between $25,000 - $35,000 per year. Quarterly swings can be huge.
I hope this helped
I'm in HR and know for a fact that base salaries are not as high as $120k. Most base salaries for Onc reps is around $60k. The knuckle head reps will all say they're making far more, which is a lie.
