Oncology salary

Hello.

I just interviewed for an oncology opening and learned that I'm one of the leading candidates. The topic of salary hasn't come up (yet), but I'm trying to get an accurate idea of what a tenured oncology sales rep may be offered. Can anyone give me an idea of the highest that Eisai will pay in 1) maximum base salary 2) realistic avergae annal bous/commision 3) vacation time and paid time off (if additional, ie personal days).

I would appreciate civilized, helpful feedback. Also, I already have read all the negative postings about this division (and Eisai in general), but I need the position before the company I work for lets a lot more of us "go". So, please, no snide remarks like "stay away" or "this place sucks". All of that is a "given" lol. Any help would be appreciated.

Why haven't you asked the recruiter?

There are ways to get this information without putting it out there on CP.

Pc rep here so can only help with pto. 20 days total for first 3 yrs allotted at 5 days per quarter. 25 days for 3 to 5 yrs and 30 days off on your 6th yr. It is all inclusive (sick/vacation). 11 holidays per yr. 401k -Eisai matches 100 percent of first 3 percent of base pay and 50 perecent of the next 2 percent. Good luck to you.

I was making $108k and Eisai bumped me to 115k (senior level). I know there were some reps that were making in the 120's. They were carryovers when Aloxi was bought from Eisai.

Most of the higher paid reps opted out or were let go. I left and took a pay cut on the front end because they do not like to pay out the bonus. Less than 25% of the reps in oncology make less than the 30k target bonus.

If you are an experienced oncology rep, I would look elsewhere. Eisai's oncology division is poorly run and the patent on Aloxi is expiring soon. The breast cancer drug is a dog. They will soon have nothing to sell.

In addition, they run it like a primary care division. Everyone I know that is still there has been looking to leave.

There is no recruiter involved. I interviewed with the manager. If you read my post, you'll notice that I asked for helpful comments, not stupid ones like yours.

I'm sorry but how is, "what's the salary for this position"? NOT your first question??? Why would you waste your time interviewing if the salary is not in the right range? You are perfect for Eisai, scared to ask the simplest of questions..."yes Mr. DM I am interested in learning more about this position, first off what is the base salary range and bonus at plan and potential so I can be sure this will be a financial fit for me?". There was that so hard?

Yeah, I think you just try to get a rise out of these poor Eisai reps who are totally freaked by the upcoming lay-offs. Then again if you are for real, by the sounds of it you are trying to get out ahead of the cuts at your current emplyer. Unless you have another offer what difference does it make how much Eisai pays? You are facing unemployemnt and are desperate. If you were not "desperate" you would not consider this company. Just take whatever they offer and be done. Don't act like you have any negotiating leverage. The company got rid of a lot of highly paid reps to save $$$ why would they replace them with other overpaid reps?

Yes, eisai will pay a salary-unless you are currently earning more than 160 in base you are likely to get maybe a 3% bump in your current salary-maybe. "Annal" commission (your words) yep-you'll take it up the ass in bonus. 10K max. PTO and vacationis the same.

Do not come to this company unless you need a paycheck for short term. I promise you it is not a good career move. So many people are miserable here. If you get the job keep looking so you can get out quick.

Amen!

Who I'm their right mind would ask a salary question during a first interview? You are another disgruntled dumbass. Why would u criticize someone asking for a little insight?

Halaven has at least seven more years and aloxi patent expires in 2015. Good opportunity and job security for at least four years. Things aren't perfect but where are they? Allos? How's that working out?

If you read carefully, imbecile, I asked for the MAXIMUM salary. I already know the general range, I was asking for more specifics. If you're capable of following 4th grade instructions, which you aren't, I also didn't want negative comments like yours. Now, go back to minding your own business and stop being such a negative sissy.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. That was really useful.

That's precisely the plan. But I was looking for specific maximum salary numbers, bonus earnings, vacation, etc., not career advisement. Please follow simple instructions. ;)

“The topic of salary hasn't come up (yet), but I'm trying to get an accurate idea of what a tenured oncology sales rep may be offered”.

A HOLE you stated right in your original post that the topic of salary hasn’t come up!!! But now you know the “range”…

Seriously how stupid are you and are you really that much of a Pu$$$Y??? Why not ask the DM flat out, “What is the highest you can go with the base salary”??? Again is that so hard? Or are too scared? You need to come to CP to ask a stupid question like that? Again you are perfect for Eisai…

Are you serious? It is the first question you should ask on the phone, with either the recruiter, the DM or the HR person. I tell them what I am making and ask what the maximum is for the job. Why in the hell would you not get that out right in the beginning before wasting your time (and their time) interviewing for a position you wouldn’t take because the base and/or bonus is too low???

Seriously when do you finally discuss compensation? At the fifth interview only to find out that you already make more than their max???

If you're not going to give the solicited feedback, then why do you care? Go away Nellie. Your anger speaks for itself.

The maximum salary is 3% more than you currently make you stupid shit. By the way, the postion was filed with someone who initially asked about salary early rather than wasting everyones time dreaming that Eisai, a primary care company, will actually pay for onc experience.

The OP is the ideal employee for Azi and here are some reasons why -- feel free to add others of your own:

1) lacks basic communication effectiveness skills,
2) wastes valuable time and resources 'socializing' every fucking decision to everyone and their mother,
3) has NO balls to directly ask the right questions to the right people, getting to the root of an issue and allowing one to formulate an intelligent strategic decision,
4) as a result of 1 to 3 above, will make a perfect 'yes-man' this company embraces.
