Seems as though the company does actually value some over others when handing out large retention bonuses. While claiming times are tough and giving the proverbial finger to other parts of the company. Thanks Germany for paying us while job seeking elsewhere.

Many would argue that it's better to be paid 2x to leave a place you don't want to be than to be paid 1x to stay at a place you're not so sure about. ;-)
