oncology in AL

DSI has no oncology. Good luck selling that story to someone who has. We sell iron. It’s a joke and a joke title. We will have no true oncology. Never ever. Rid it out and work two jobs like me. Milking this fucker for all it’s worth. That’s right Wolf. As I smile in your face. Fuk u

Well smile at the wolf if you like .. a lot of these iron reps have gotten jobs selling oncology drugs with huge base pay increases .... it’s a stepping stone

You are correct. even though we are "supportive care" there are companies that will pay you for your oncology relationships and buy and bill experience. A few reps have made it to oncology recently.

All the work is on auto pilot, DSI doesn’t do anything would t know an oncologist if they slapped him in the face and 4 people have left for no name Onc companies give us a break

Everyone reading this better get a plan in place . Pain you better find something even if it is a contract IF you can find it . Oncology better apply to everything you see and hope to get picked up by an oncology company like many of your colleagues have before the end of the year .. now is the time to act

you have no oncology. DSI is irrelevant. Trust me as I interviewed with company’s who do sell in this arena. They will laugh at you. It is a title but it gives you zero credibility. Like saying the garbage collectors are race car drivers. Yes, they both have cars but only one uses the vehicle it to race. If you sell Injectafer please remind yourself you are selling IRON. That is it. Not oncology and NOT saving lives.

“Someone saved my life tonight ... could have been .. almost had their hooks in me” . Wait did the injectafer rep save my life ??lol

Where else do you expect to get oncology and buy and bill experience??? Duh

Well unless the rep was on the American Regent side for a good portion of their time at DSI they do NOT have oncology and buy and bill experience. This crew that came in recently are referral space reps getting patients to the infusion site . So it’s just a title now . Most new reps have no clue what account managers did. Most legacy AR transitioning out . There are very few people left that have any skill set in that arena from leadership down ... hard cold facts folks !

Also, some companies are getting wind of this. I am legacy AR, trying to escape. I've applied to an oncology expansion where the interviewer actually asked me if I came from the DSI side or the AR side.

What is the starting salary for the "oncology" rep it’s hourly and average is about 16 bucks an hour

Is there room for negotiation? You can likely get them to throw in a goat or bag of apples

The starting salary is all over the place. The AR reps that were bought over were paid like crap. They had a reorg in March and gave all the oncology reps a $10,000 raise across the board. That still did not give us industry standard but then again, they made us start calling on referring docs (OBGYN, GI, PC) and took away a lot of the "Oncology" responsibilities. All the vacancies you see in oncology are because a rep was able to leverage their relationships/experience to make about $30,000 more in base salary.

Well then is there a range - looking to apply and want to put an appropriate number down to start with.
