Oncology Division, How is it divided, # of reps

So after the realignment, how many reps are selling Tasigna? I am afraid to accept the offer and get laid off few months later. I have been contacted by others companies to sell the competitor!!! Serious replies.....please

Are you the OP? Onc doesn't sell Tasigna. But if you are looking at Hem, Tasigna is a superior product to BMS's.

Likely to be cuts at some point in the future but the same can be said for any large company. There are simply too many reps in oncology today. Still, interview, get the offer, and then move on. Appalling the misinformation on this thread so do yourself a favor and look somewhere else for facts to make a job decision by. Seriously, if this is where you come for direction you have worse problems than a potential, maybe, someday layoff.

Thank you for the advice. I am here because I do not know anyone on Hem team and I was hoping to clarify few things before I make a decision. You might think that the site is not a good source for TRUE information/direction but I found out that most of the threads listed on the site are true and accurate. These are just my thoughts but I appreciate your input anyway!

3 people selling Tasigna. Goto BMS. There are bond to be realignments sometime this year or next.

If there is a job open and you're interviewing then you will not be laid off anytime soon. There have been very few layoffs, but it is true there are a number of low performing reps that have left recently. The ONC side is going to see cuts, but not HEM. These post from people answering your questions are not accurate at all. They clearly know nothing about the business unit or the brand strategies for 2011. You are wasting your time trying to gain information on this site. Oh for those who will wonder why I am reading this garbage...I love to start my week with the affirming knowledge that there are truly BIG losers in my company and I am clearly better than them.

They aren't called layoffs in Oncology....it' attrition, each sales force has see a 10-20% reduction in the last 18 months....no need to publicize a layoff with that level of attrition. Most "low performing" reps who left are now making 20-30 % more than Novartis pays for the same job. I call that a good move...and a few have better , smaller territories and better data to deal with and goals that are actually reasonable.

And its a fact that the difference in bonus payout are so small from the top to bottom that literally you can move from the bottom to the top in as little as one quarter. Goals are the asskicker.
