On The First day of Christmas....LabCorp Gave to Me...

Not jealous at all. Anybody who posts that they bought a brand new porsche and brags about it, is a total dooshe and has a low self esteem ....This post represents labcorp's leadership! Their employees are getting squeezed left and right and this person is talking about purchasing brand new porsche's

Oh poor baby! When you get a new car don't you brag about it? Employees aren't getting squeezed left and right. You're full of it. Why don't YOU try being a leader sometime instead of whining? It might change your life. If I'm wrong then explain to me HOW you're getting squeezed? Stop throwing out general terms. Specifics please.

I don't design the comp plan but i think most reps would agree with this setup..For SME's - Set a yearly sales goal of 100k for new business. They have no territory responsibilty and are not paid on it at all. Pay the rep 50% commission on new biz. Example - 20K call in yields a 10K commission. No 6 month rolling avg so they can't find ways to not pay reps for new business. Make it uncapped and continue to pay the commission % over the goal. Management would say what about future billing issues and what if an account leaves after 3 months? I would say trust your billing team and pay service reps more for retention. This is very straight forward and not complicated at all.

You are so fucking high guy. 50% commission? If you're a SME I guarantee you don't have a college degree. 5-10% is the most you'll ever get. I'm a SME and wouldn't expect that. I'm going to go smoke a joint and laugh at your dumb ass.

jackass - if you got 5-10 % of your new biz in that plan, you would only get 5-10k in commission a year. Did you ever break down what you get currently for new business call ins at goal now? 8k new biz on a 6 month roll yields about 1200 a month in comm. about 14k a year, roughly 8k after taxes..

I have to agree on the yearly goal and no territory management, which is basically a 2 for 1 deal in labcorp's favor having the SME covering their whole territory while hunting for new business. Maybe the percentage is too high but if you want hardcore closers only going after new business, the commission paid is worth it in the long term. Labcorp seems like they are into potentially securing managed care contracts, buying other labs, get what clients are forced to switch, then protecting what they have and upselling existing business. This company is on auto pilot and running on old gas. The SME role is dead comparing to what it was 10/15 years ago. If they wanted to grow organically this is the kind of comp plan that would allow reps to plant the seeds and water the plants..
