On Point

Post 16. You're right. Nothing else matters other than growing business. That's why they make you do busy work. You don't think your boss or their boss knows you can do this job in 2 or 3 hours and take Friday off? That's why they want you doing busy work. It keeps you busy. Not actually marketing but doing a report about a report with data that's a few months old. This is not rocket science.

Exactly!

Wish I had a manager that truly understood this, instead of the jacka$$ I have that takes all of this literlly, like it's part of the ten commandments or something.

Poster #16 here. I was being facetious. But one day they will figure out that we (like some of the Big Boys of pharma) can get the same results by tapping into InVentiv and PDI's depots of multiple COE winners that will be able to get the same results at a 40% reduction in salary/benefits cost.

Of all the crap and trash talking that has ever been posted on CP, true-er words have never been spoken than posts #13 and #15. Once again management has to find some way to justify their existence and this thread could very easily apply to any one of 50 companies on this site. Checking the box and metrics are managements means to an end.

Oh, and by the way, I don't want to be an alarmist but check out the Shire page and the IPad/Airwatch tracking software "thread" that watches your every little real time move, stop, call, quickie, trip to the gym, round of gol......I mean inservice. And, management has the ability to know if you disable or turn it off. Next we will have coordinated routing- office A to office B and so on just like a UPS driver, and God forbid if we stray.

As Hyman Roth said to Michael Corleone, "This is the business we have chosen"

Great huh?

spoke to my mgr just the other day about tracking and her response reminded me of Leslie Nielson in Airplane - they wont use it for tracking blah blah blah. The enitre time her nose was growing

Oh who gives a crap. God we manage to find stupid things to whine about. It's two phone calls a week. Big whoop. I talk to my pod all the time anyway, this just gives structure and visibility to some of what we discuss. There is no point complaining about it! Deal!!

On Point is a b.s. exercise, 40 quarters of growth or whatever. the fact that, in the training it detailed how many minutes you are to spend on each part of the notes, that a monitored conference call number is used, and that call times are set in stone, it's all b.s.

If it looks like b.s., smells, like b.s., sounds like b.s., it's b.s. There is not one rep who thinks this is good. At best you will have a rep say it might not be too bad. Wow, that's a ringing endorsement.

Regarding the growth argument. When I was at J&J in the early 2000's they had at the time something like 30 YEARS worth of consecutive double digit growth. And then the bottom fell out and positions were slashed like crazy, whole divisions merged or dissolved (Ortho Neuro for example). The consecutive growth argument is a straw man. J&J lost patent exclusivity on Ultracet early, had some patent expirations, didn't get approved for a couple other products and voila! their pipeline is non-existent with massive layoffs to follow.

We are only as good as our products. Any hiccup and we are way overstaffed.

Dont let the door hit you in your lazy ass on the way out the door.

You re so full of it....do you have any idea what fucko Takeda pay s ? They start at 48,5 and can go up to 58,5 with piss cars and micro to death.don t argue with me ,just had to do contract with them for 6 months and believe me everybody was trying to get into Takeda

you talk to your podmates "all the time" - so do you record those conversations "all the time" to reinforce your "structure and visibility"?

a blind man could see that this is a big brother mentality that will only get worse!

I know!! I mean, you're so fucking smart you can remember everything that's ever been said, can't you? What a terrible idea to actually write it down and hold someone accountable to do it. This is awful!! I want to go back to the days when I could fuck around and let my podmates do all the work....

Please, don't get it twisted -

I work, my entire team works their asses off. We are a 3x COE territory. My point is, when my pod communicates, it doesn't need to be recorded. We aren't children that need to be babysat. Accountability? We've got that done, so go f$3k yourself.

Of course you do. You remember EVERYTHING that's ever been said, which is why you are so FANTASTIC at everything. It must be wornderful to be you. Maybe we could roll-out OnPoint, and just leave your pod out, being you have no way you could ever improve. Man, if we could all be YOU, this world would be a better place.

Will we still have these if we're not launching Tresiba for awhile? Could save the company money for the cost of the calls and we could be out in the field selling. Just a thought.

Here's another thought.........how about if we just eliminate some of the POD mates? I am thinking 2-3 max per territory now. Your DBM will soon get instructions. Basically, they will be ordered to put their 2 weakness reps per territory on a PIP immediately. I don't believe in severance packages!

Best wishes,

AA

You know what? You're right. Especially with Tresiba not being approved, this will be a fantastic way to "improve" selling our current portfolio. And hey, to keep my attitude in check as well!

I honestly cant wait to hear how the company is going to put a positive spin on this one. i'm sure they are making a batch of their best kool-aid as we speak. Dont believe them, that is what they have to say. This is not good, no way no how, and we all know it.
