Office based specialty coming on strong

I know a bunch of specialty reps and I am proud to be in their fraternity. We are what drives business. Surveys show DRS respect specialty reps more than territory reps and contract reps. That is why we are paid more and respected more from management. Just stating the facts.

Glad it works that way in your neck of the woods. I've been here over 10 years. My docs call me when they need something. Not my seventh spec rep in 10 years. Where I am from that job sucks. Problem is you got a lot of tenure on both teams. The tenure does not want the job. So some ambitious little 'leader' comes along and pisses the tenure off, then get ran out of town. It's happened to the last 3 in my area. Just sayin.

The tenured reps are lazy that's why you don't want the privilege of being specialty rep. I am aggressive and get results. I don't just want a signature like you and other tenured territory reps.

You are delusional. Your formulary and territory get most of the results. Why don't you share with the rest of us your genius and how "aggressiveness" works for you? Be a team player and help make FRX better by sharing...

Again, if that is the way it works where your at than great. But you don't understand little one. That job is not a privilege where I am. Sure someone always thinks it is but within a year they are burnt out, hate life, getting divorced, seeing a therapist, looking to jump to the first job they can find, etc.

Seven in ten years should tell you something. None were bad to begin with. The job ruined them. Why is that a privilege?

Hello you aggressive results-getting genius-If you haven't been at the bottom results-wise, YOU WILL. We "lazy" tenured reps thought we were the cat's meow when we were at the top too. 5-15 years later, we "get it", unlike you. I have had the "privilege" of being a specialty rep. I busted my butt and made a lot of money and went to pc twice. I also had eight partners in two different territories. Products were taken off managed care plans, people left, got fired, or got promoted. One territory would kill it and the other would tank. You can only do so much mr. results. Print this out and save it for a rainy day. I like being a territory rep again much more. I have fewer slacker partners to deal with, am able to make impact with more docs because I can make calls to all the docs in a given office, not just my one A target. I, unlike you, know that I can make more than my specialty rep if i can finish at the top for at least one product.
This company has changed, none of us matter any more-we are all disposable, even you go getter.
Additionally, a superiority complex is not a good quality in an employee, partner, or human being. Have a slice of humble pie tool.

Amen. As someone else who has been around the block this is the most real post I've seen here.

My numbers were flyin high my first 3 years. Killing it with Namenda and Benicar. Lexapro was the one with crappy managed care in my area and bad access to MDs who were hurting us the most. Specialty came open. Thank God my DM at the time talked me out of that death trap.

This post is right on something else. Those who come in and ride a wave need to realize they are going to reach shore. No one is on top forever.

I agree, same as DMs, they have one good Quater or year and think they are god and the RDs are stupid enough to hire these fools. The only thing my DRS respect less than the female reps are the female managers. Go sue over that, you want to sue over everything else.
