Off label sales at Ikaria

Do you know that the MSLs are held responsible for the generation of the off label business. They try to avoid it on paper but we get evaluated on it. Tom tells us flat out that the better the off label sales is better our bonus and that Paul and Steve are our real bosses and Matt is just a figure head... I hope the new company lets me go and I can cash out.
 






Who is writing this nonsense. It becomes more and more ridiculous with every post. Do the company a favor and just resign. We tire of your whining, lying and childish behavior. How do you have any respect for yourself as a professional?
 






























These posts are comical! For years MSLs at Ikaria did nothing--afraid to leave their houses and actually visit doctors. No ISTs submitted, no publications authored, no KOLs developed, NOTHING! Now we have an MSL Director who knows how hospitals work, who has some juice in the company, and who can actually coach and manage, and all you can whine about is that he isn't a scientist? What an ego you must have! You think your education creates value for your employer and for patients? Guess what, it's meaningless.

Do your freakin' job. No more, no less. No one is asking you to break the rules--if they do, call the compliance hotline and rat them out. (I'm sure you would not hesitate.) You get paid close to $250k a year to travel around and talk to an educated customer, and are accountable for very little. You've got nothing to complain about!
 






Hey Illene we all know its you defending Tom we know the relationship you have with Carl and Tom and what you are doing to get ahead that is what should be reported first. If you Tom or Carl have worked as an MSL at another company you would know what is right and what is wrong threatening to fire us for every thing is the only thing Tom and Carl do.
 






If education is not important and any body can do the MSL job why hire MSLs and pay 250k when you can hire knowledgable sales reps. Tom might know sales but that does not make him qualified to run a Msl program he should be running a sales group or just let him do what he is doing now making us the MSLs in to super reps to sell off label.
 












You have to remember that all of that nasty posts above are a direct result of Steve Ross - not as a result of bad MSLs. He has created an incredible amount of animosity between medical and commercial and continued with it from the stage this week with his snide comments. Some of the tactics that he employed (for example - putting Tom in a bad spot as the medical director, the 'team' activities at this NBC) are just examples of that.

If you dont think its true lets look at Steves last experience. This is what he did at GSK specifically the Zofran section - and now you see lawyers circling on TV ads.....

Steve and David got fired there after they tried to get medical to sell off label zofran to pregnant women......if/when the new company looks into this they will hopefully make some changes - I will wait until then before I decide to quit or not and although I cant say all this directly to the rest of my colleagues in medical I hope you will stay here as well.
 




































Life is funny - the world is filled with over and under-educated idiots, one in particular being from Dallas TX and the other from Hampton NJ. I also never could decide which was the bigger set of idiots - the readers or the posters on Cafepharma. I put up with lot at Ikaria - but I left with a lot as well and now I answer to no one but myself. I hope all those still there or at some facsimile thereof at Mallinkrodt or some other yahoo outfit they landed with, are still enjoying dealing with the likes of Steve, Daniel and other characters like them. Because the truth is they are all like that. Ikaria's exec team was just really shitty at hiding it.
