OBU

How dare you compare any of this to what is happening in this country over the last few days. KK is pimple on my ass but a big pain all the same. She needs the feedback because her methods are failing.

Stop suppressing people's feelings you brown-nosing douchebag.

Heard about approval. Had to check the shire board to see how it was going. Heard kk ps were there now. Haven't looked at CP for years. Oh boy. Same old same old. Fabricated call averages is one metric they used to sell B&l to valiant for an over priced sum. Any who balked about fabricated calls were terminated at B&L. Managers and reps reported the reach and frequency was impossible and they were cut. If you want the paycheck. Check the box. They don't care if it's fabricated. They know it is. For any that think you are specialty you are deluding yourself. Ophthalmic pharma has become primary care. It already was when I got out several years ago. Your exec team is from Novartis. You work for shire. They are playing the big pharma play book. Pump and dump. And her color coded calendar. Hilarious. Thanks for the laugh. Good times. (Not) Launch the drug, make money for the year then get out of the craziness. There are a number of small ophthalmic device and cap sale companies. If you think you are a real deal sales person. The bases are lower but the total comp puts you at 150-250k and you get full autonomy to run your business. If you don't sell you get fired. If you sell you make money and have total freedom. Here's a test. If you have bad dreams about your job or work environment. Get out. Been there done that. It's a toxic environment. Good luck.

Thanks. Now get ready for the "fired troll reply" from the one lone idiot commisioned to monitor activity here and attempt to defend KK (badly). Most agree its her herself doing it.

Perry is a sleazeball and not any type of strategic leader. Pump and Dump is correct and they almost did it with AbbVie, but we see how that turned out. Now misery has set in at Shire and no one actually gives a shit. We just all gettin' paid, MF'er!

Work hard for what you want because it won't come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.

sitting here listening to the conference call questions. PEOPLE! please stop with the silly questions. have you never launched a product? do you have any common sense? don't you think the questions would be answered up front if they wanted to or could?

Amen! Just when I think this team is full of rock stars I listen to one idiotic question after another.
I'm surprised compensation, direct to consumer advertising plans, or calls per day didn't come up.
People, at least pretend you know what is going on by being silent.

Agreed. I believe I was hired because of my years of experience, my sales excellence (top rankings and sales results), my work ethic and my integrity, not because I made a certain number of calls to check a box. I was hired to run a territory and be successful for myself but mostly for this company. I am DISGUSTED by upper management who will attempt to treat me like a child by requiring me to have a certain amount of calls on a certain day. I, like most of my fellow reps are here to make money, to be successful. We will male our calls and make meaningful calls. We will see more accounts on some days than others. We will spend more time in some offices than others. You hired us to do this, so let us. Please do not make the mistake of telling us our Friday call averages is low ever again. This is the worst form of over managing where unnecessary. I hope our zone directors and regional managers will have the insight and wisdom to stop this before it goes any further. I communicate this as strongly as I can.

Exactly why many Rare Disease reps left Shire.

Shire's strategy across all franchises is strictly reach and frequency.

Embrace it or do as many of my teamamtes and I did...find a better opportunity

So true. And to the person that tried to appear Ms. Smarty Pants and point out a perceived discrepancy in the PI....

First, we're about to spend the next 10 days reviewing the PI including a 3 day meeting. That call was neither the time nor the place to ask that question. Get a clue. That was supposed to be an introductory overview call to layout what the next several weeks are going to look like.

Secondly, there's no discrepancy. Read it more closely next time.

Now I know why Kathy micro manages like she does. It appears that a lot of the reps have no clue and need to be told exactly what to do and when to do it. It is all making sense.

No, we have a few not-so-bright individuals like any division or company. Its not a lot of us, just a handful. Thats why we are commenting here. We were smart enough to keep our mouths shut on the call knowing info will be covered at the appropriate time.

Thought we were all hired in at the same level...sales specialist, yet people are getting promoted before we even have a product?

If you either have experience with Shire in a different division and you were up for promotion, that was taken into account. Most of us that came from outside Shire but have ophthalmology sales experience and were given the same title that we vacated our previous company with.

Um actually no. Everyone was hired in as sales specialist. Look it up on workday.

Keep telling yourself that. My title is "Senior Sales Specialist" despite what workday or outlook says (probably because they didn't want people to know that some got senior, executive, etc. for this very reason) but it's in my offer letter and on my business card. At the time of negotiations, it allowed Shire to bend a little on starting salary. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Look at the bright side though. You'll have more of an opportunity to get promoted and get bumps in salary than someone that's already at the senior, executive, etc. level.
