Novartis OTC Contract

Now this thread is being monitored for content and I have no doubt that it's because the posts describing the abusive tactics of one of the new managers is getting some overdue attention. The worst part is that this thread doesn't even show half the abuse going on! He has violated his reps in some awful, damaging ways and Ventiv, again, is protecting him by having this thread monitored and edited. Much to your dismay, the truth will eventually surface. The longer he's protected, the larger the settlement. Why do you think so many attorneys advertise on CP?
When you're in the car 1 to 1 with an abusive person, it's difficult to prove any violations. But, for the very same reasons, it's just as challenging to disprove them. Almost everyone's cell phones have the audio capability to record conversations that not only take place on the cell phone but also in the vicinity of the cell phone. Physicians and staff have stepped up before and testified for the reps who eventually become plaintiffs in lawsuits.
I'm appealing to you, Ventiv, to please do the morally honorable thing and remove him from his duties as dm. Maybe he can work on the contract in a different capacity where he doesn't have the opportunity to be alone with others? I realize that he brings a lot of valuable, professional experience to this contract but it's at such a reprehensible cost. I would never ask you to care about these reps but if you looked at this situation from a purely financial point of view, it might make sense to place him in a situation where he can be monitored. You're already monitoring this thread and it doesn't make much sense; none of these posts are admissable in court proceedings. And, again, these posts do not capture the most heinous, egregious violations that he has already done and is still doing to these people. Please do not interpret this as a threat, but the longer you protect him, the larger the settlement. The numbers are there; precedent has been set.

Reading these horror stories, I'm glad I did not get the Novartis OTC contract position thus avoiding having to run into this horrible manager. There is no reason for such behavior as most people are motivated to work and do a fine job. Hope he is removed.

It is a shame to hear about some of this stuff going on with manager(s) on the Novartis OTC project. This is such an awesome contract and it is not rocket science to be able to do this job, be successful and have fun at the same time. I think some managers come in thinking they are going to bring some of their bad habits with them from their old jobs or make this job more difficult than what it really is.

Depending where you are and who your manager is, they can make such a great contract a nightmare for no good reason.

I have been blessed because my manager on this project is a good one.

Hope these issues get resolved quickly and I wish the reps dealing with this the best.

Just wanted to post some updated info for anyone else that may be looking in the future to join the Novartis OTC contract. If you do real well, hit your call matrix, dollar sales growth, bonus kickers and your Walter Klowers surveys you can actually make about $17,000 in bonus a year +/- This has went up alot since we first started.

These is due to the new bonus structuring they put in place recently. Can't complain for just an OTC sales position. This job is pretty good. Alot less stress than prescription drug selling and you actually enjoy what your doing.

Novartis Consumer has been doing well to be fair and take care of us and to that I say THANK YOU!

the above poster makes some excellent and accurate points but how do we justify having a manager who rides w/u for 7-7.5 hrs/day, reprimands you for eating lunch, ("why don't you just lick the powder from a boost sample?") threatens to beat the snot out of you if you make fewer than 13 calls/day and 3 pharmacy calls/day and calls you at home?

I am the poster above who put the updated info on how the bonus plan has increased and Novartis has been good to us, BUT I definitely agree the manager you are speaking of is contaminating a great contract. I hope there is swift action to fix this!!
