Home office here, just heard that Novartis is putting in a bid to take us over now that the Roche family own only 45%. Novartis owns 1/3 of our shares and is putting in a hostile takeover bid!! Here we go, it was fun while it lasted!! We are all going down!!

That would be stupid. Novartis is not known for being really bright but why waste Billions of $$ on purchasing a company like Roche? Roche is ruining Genentech faster than anyone thought possible.

How is Roche ruining Genentech? They gave them complete control and moved their US HQ to SF. Many of those who made the move are gone now. If anything, Genentech ruined themselves.

If it's true (we have heard this many times in the past), I wonder if this was Roche's plan all along. Will they get a better price with Genentech included in the deal than they would have before?

Don't forget, Roche saved Genentech's ass! Remember the Avastin data that all the executives knew about and sold their stock before the merger? Where would Gtech be with Avastin fading and nothing to brag about for a few more years!

It was perfect timing to be displaced, get a big lump sum severance and find a new job. Double dipping is great. For Oncology COSes, there are many great jobs out there for you in areas other than Pharma.

The new job is a huge cultural upgrade minus 'survival of the fittest'. Get out on your terms and start looking now. The Swiss will be cutting again.

Let's be real here folks. Roche would not be worth anything if ot for Genentech. Yes Roche paid some money in 1990 but what they got in return saved them. What percentage of Roche sales is made up from Genentech products? There is your answer.
