Notification day

Very Very Easily. Their big raises & bonuses were awarded as a result of firing us and “saving the company”
Makes total sense, unfortunately the rich get richer and the poor peons like us lose our jobs, struggle to survive, try to fit into a new company, commute for 1.5 hours each way 5 days per week for two years then be chosen as the first group to be laid off from the new company due to low seniority and few political connections. All the time the VPs and Directors just keep moving forward to retirement in their cushy bubble kissing up to their bosses so they don’t get targeted next time and keep surviving. One strategy is to give more headcount cuts than asked for to make more brownie points with the LT so they will not fire them in the next round. Like sacrificing others to save themselves. Don’t believe it, think they are looking out for you above themselves, living the Credo? Not. It’s 100% about self preservation and survival rather than helping others. It’s like a game to them, how many layoffs can I survive until retirement by throwing others under the bus. How many VPs put themselves on the list unless they want a package, very few. RWJ is turning over in his grave to watch how the company operates now. No impact for bad business decisions like buying bad companies like. Abiomed under consent decree then selling them off in 5-10 years due to low performance. The situation now was caused by poor leadership and poor leadership decisions but they are not the ones punished, it’s the working people that try to struggle to fix things and to make things work. Rank does have its privileges and those people have lots more options and flexibility and leniency than the rest of us. If they would layoff more Directors and VPs then more of us working people could fix the problems that the LT creates. When they let us go they are throwing in the towel and giving up without admitting their mistakes. We pay the price, not them. Also the freezes do not apply to them as they continue to do their thing wasting the company’s money getting drunk and eating expensive meals. Never changes. That is the real truth. Would not be different than other companies but we say we live by the Credo and do not do things that way. Yeah right. Don’t be a sheep and don’t drink the corporate kool aid because it’s really piss water. The spin will be fun to watch as they tell us these changes are going to make us leaner, stronger, more agile, more nimble, more focused, and more successful. We heard that in 2022 and it’s only two years later. Why did we hire so many more people in two years that now need reducing. Freeze al hiring and fire all consultants and contractors until the situation improves.

Like another poster said on another thread, time for a pharma union. How dare they prance around with their fat paychecks while those of us that actually do the work are squeezed or worse.
Absolutely!!! Juoaqin gets a 117% raise, and I have a special needs adult son who needs monthly injections that cost about $1000! You think he’d pick up the tab?! No!!!

Director here. I got cut too. Thinking about how to put food on the table for my family.
