Not what? Need Health Insurance!!

send an e-mail to http://www.truthbenefits.com

I was sent a comparison of different insurance policies and rates and they weren't outrageously priced. Someone who is licensed in your state will send you an e-mail - just so I would not get phone calls, etc., I made up a name, phone # and had a gmail e-mail account to keep from getting phone calls from every Tom, Dick and Harry.

FYI, it was one guy from this site who told me to stick with major medical with a high deductible - don't get a co-pay card or drug card - drs will only charge you what they charge insurance companies and that really isn't that much more than what you pay as a copay and it was a difference of about $200/mo. Generics from WM for $4, so who needs a drug card?

I have selected BCBS plans for kids in grad school, and have purchased these in 3 different states. We opt out of dental because routine, annual preventative care is low enough cost for younger kids and most care isn't an emergency. They offered a variety of plans from good, general coverage to high deductible plans and those you would use for emergency or high cost care only. A good plan ran about $125 a month for someone a a relatively young age and no health issues.

Glad to hear this. So many believe good quality care is soooo expensive, Ala the HC reform bill.

Insurance is relatively cheap for healthy people. Just make sure you don't have a pre-existing condition or illness that requires routine medications and physician/hospital visits and exams/procedures. God forbid you get cancer, diabetes, etc.

This is all well and good; I would gladly pay that price "for a kid". But what if you are pushing 50, healthy but on a few meds. That is where they screw you even though you are healthy!

Appreciate the BCBS reply to original post. I live in California, the inquiries that I have made were elsewhere and extremely high. I have a college student dependent. Thanks for info.

Insurance has to do with risk. When you are 50 you are at a higher risk than a 30 year old. Face it, 50 is getting up there in years. 50 is no spring chicken. Let's be honest.

Just like car insurance. If you have 3 tickets and accidents you are more risky to the insurance company than a 40 year old woman with a perfect driving record.
