congrats its obvious you are in a leadership position and have secured a job when the merger is complete
you also lack empathy perfect for the industry and probably not your fault just poor mentors
i am calm but understand why people are stressed and for some its not just control what you can control
i can go on and on for the reasons why this a tough situation for many
just understand i guarantee you will face similar situations in the future and the circumstances of your personal life may be different from now possibly altering how you respond
