JJ putting fear in all around her, announcing job freeze, layoffs, management changes in mass. Stating to all corporate and BH love me I'm safe you aren't. Just waiting our one year and this time we vote yes. Mutiny in supervisor and managers coming
 






That's her way of running her ship - she has said many times to her staff "If I'm gonna eat - or your gonna eat - I"M GONNA EAT". everyone gets her message loud and clear.
 






You know what I am so tired of the whining- the employees the supervisors and Managers must really like being treated like this- why are you not calling corporate compliance Bill Haas directly HR and telling your stories and showing the proof. She would be gone and you may actually get a leader that cares about you, and the company and not just their selves.

The jerk off will most likely get promoted and your clueless ass will be set up and lied on, written up for every minor insignificant event while major issues with other workers are ignored, harassed and talked crazy to .... to discourage anybody else who might want to lodge a complaint.

This is another poster who is not referring to the Northeast region, but somewhere else and I must say that that kind of stuff really happens. I am a witness. For a quiet life, I decided to keep out of it. It is this kind of upper management negligence that brings in unions. And you are right. They don't give a damn about their employees.
 






LOL - report who to where? You really believe in your Alice in Wonderland world that reporting anyone to HR works? LOL - the Northeast HR team - from top (RM) to everyone in New Castle that deals with this - are substandard. They lie to the employees, to the Sups/Managers and to LS and crew in Corporate. They have the inside track on how to save their behinds. They make the policies - expect the Sups to enforce then when an employee asks for their "help" instead of baking themselves, corporate and the Sups - they bail! That is what creates ill will between the Sups and employees - no back up. That's why whatever the employees want - I'm good with. Too many other Sups fired for following the rules - not me - don't care about attendance, performance, metrix, etc. I;m still collecting a paycheck!

Well that explains a lot. I was watching that Mat Damon movie, Elysium, the other day and it was almost scary how Jodie Foster's character so perfectly represented a manager in the (Los Angeles, formerly Lab West) Monrovia lab. You could not tell them apart, in the sense that their behavior and thought processes are identical.

Now, am I hearing you correctly? Did you just say that HR makes these fkdup policies. and when employees go to them seeking help in order to deal with the sups/managers who enforce these fkdup policies, HR bails on the supervisors and won't back them up. Well who the hell is supposed to back up the employees in a situation like that? Oh, you don't have to tell me, I bet I know who...

The real reason that there are problems between Sups and employees is because the Sups/Managers are so eager to please their superiors by fking over employees so they can show how tough they are. Their goal is become the perfect tool and some have succeeded. Remember, it was sucking up and/or selling out and becoming someone's eyes and ears that got them the promotion in the first place. A policy just gives them a green light to knit pick, intimidate and bully because they can.
 






I have a question about age discrimination and job security. I heard a rumor that seniority is not respected or valued at Labcorp and that those long time employees acquired through a company merger have the least job security. Is it true that high seniority, excellent job performance and qualifications are not considered when it comes to getting promoted or Rifed.This pretty much lines up with what the last poster said. And that would be another reason for Union representation.

Can I get some serious feedback on this? I have decisions to make.

That is true in my division at least. Long time employee usually equals higher pay, which means first in line for the RIF when the company has a bad quarter. Even more true if you're making more than most because you came from a better company. Job performance and qualifications don't matter in the least when it comes time for promotions or raises. Suck up to the good ol boys and you'll have longevity. Piss them off and you will be gone.
 






Why should seniority be the the thing that matters the most are you kidding me? Is it taken into consideration yes, is that the deciding factor? No- Just because you have been here forever does not mean you are a good performer. How about you do your job, you do it well and you do the right things for this company.
And for those of you who think HR will not help you- you are wrong- call LS if you do not like RM or the New Casle folks. Have proof don't just complain- if JJ is making you lie on reports and is threatening you take proof. My god what a bunch of snivling people

I don't ever post on this site but I need to respond to this thread. If you truly have a solid complaint and can back up your allegations about JJ (?), then pick up the phone! Use your phone and block your phone number if that makes you feel more secure. But for god sakes do something instead of posting this on this site. If this is all true or even partially true, you have an obligation to yourself and others to act. So, shut up or put up!

Who said seniority alone matters most? What we are talking about here are long term employees with excellent performance who generally make more money and have more vacation time. How are they treated at LC?

Is it true that job promotions and opportunities are not posted for everyone who is interested to see and apply for.....unlike all other corporations?

It is this type of misstating of the question and the answer and your patronizing attitude that gives your bunch such a bad reputation.
