Who do you believe Kenny the CEO? Or do you believe his underlings? Remember the Voice Mail did not say there will be no layoffs in the field. Until they confirm there will be no layoffs it could still be in their plans.

Mostly the 40-something white guys, I've noticed, but not exclusively. I'm just praying us 40-something white girls aren't next on the target list; they're running low on the guys.

Can't imagine why anyone would even want to stay that long! If you've made it to 55, just get out! Early Retirement is the way to go...collect pension, subsidized medical benefits...and start a new career...or just do what you please...

I took the early retirement. You can buy medical and dental coverages through Merck at the group rate but they are not subsidized.

It is calculated, based on years of service, etc. Close to 30 years, family rate is about $300 for medical (Horizon BCBS) and $30 for comprehensive dental.

Count your blessing all 30 years worth. Do you know how many people your age cant get to 5 or 10 or 15? Geeez we should all be in your shoes.
