Next lay off in CV

When is the next lay off happening in CV? Has anyone heard anything? My manager said definitely one more lay off this year before the year ends

I don’t know but I’m a rep from another company and I see 2-3 Novartis reps together coming into an office every time I see them. Seems like Novartis has a ton of money to waste. Hopefully it’s working out.

Even before Entresto formally goes generic national wholesalers will be sending out emails alerting national accounts and PBM's they can save $$$ by switching to generic effective xx/xx/2023. Most HCP's belong to systems of care and will comply with the switch process. Then Entresto profits will start to drop. Someone in NJ knows this and has already began the plan for the next Optimization of CV. Guessing it starts late Oct/early Nov with last days in the field before Christmas. Then "new" organization starts Jan 1st 2024. You should have started looking around after the Dallas national meeting last day leadership panel of canned Q&A. CV is now in hospice.

Maybe we have a bit more time? Generics usually don’t start our dirt cheap so possibly managed care companies won’t start pushing right away. Just a thought

Went through generic transition multiple times in past. The announcement of FDA approval will slow future orders as systems attempt to use up branded inventory and they may also return to exchange for cheaper product. It won't happen overnight but it will start. The question is when x number of customers start slowing down orders what is the magic number that Novartis starts to react. You are correct that most generics discount 10-25% and do just fine: no sales force with salary, bonus, cars, leadership, Sales & Marketing, etc. I don't doubt your RD & ABL will hound you to convince customers that generic Entresto will kill patients and you have to make daily calls on high volume T1/T2 HCP's. But again IMHO your HCP's don't run PBM's and national/regional systems of care and don't really have any more vote than patients.

You fail to grasp the obvious.

1) Insurance companies always want to save $$$.
2) Insurance plans have a massive carrot for patients to utilize generics: FREE to VERY LOW COST vs brand.
3) Seniors embrace generics b/c $zero copay vs $50-$100/30day supply (before entering donut hole).
4) Pharmacies are financially incentivized to dispense generics.

So, pharmacies, Insurance companies, and patients themselves, have financial benefit to choosing/wanting generics.
What will a pharmacy promote?
What will a patient want themselves?

You fail to grasp the obvious - generics/biosimilars typically aren’t dirt cheap when they hit the market. It will be at least 6 months possibly even a year before they are dirt cheap. No idea about entresto but that’s what I have experienced over the years. Of course insurance companies will push for generic eventually

You don’t grasp the obvious
- Generic Entresto is coming soon
- Novartis won’t have reps selling Entresto once it goes generic
- Leqvio sales suck, major layoffs are coming
- All CV should be proactive and look for better opportunities right now

And the most obvious -
Novartis CV division is awful. Leaders are toxic. They lie about everything - of course we will downsize.

The reps here in the MidAtlantic are non-existent!!

Hi Duane, Jeff and Sandeep.

It looks like roughly half the country didn't get up and go to work this morning.

Seeing this makes for my best day of work in six months. Virtually everyone has turned on your sorry asses, and the best part is that you did it to yourselves.

Novartis C.V. can ignore/spin the GLINT scores, but they can't ignore the truth: nobody cares anymore, nobody works anymore, and until senior management at least pretends to care it is only going to get worse.

It’s insane that these 3 are still at the helm. Cue the crickets until post Labor Day pep talk.
Duane, Sandeep, Jeff- it’s over. No one is buying what you are selling. Words without action are empty. For every “for the patients” you serve to us we have 10 times the number of ways Nov cv is anti patient. You three are toxic failing leaders.
