Newark last week

I haven't heard anything either, so I'm assuming I did not get the job. I know someone up north who got called on Monday by the hiring manager with a verbal offer. Frankly, I am bummed out. I wanted this job since it was not just a pill pushing position. I'm bored and want a challenge. Good Luck.

No body got a job! this was a trial run for management to get use to interviewing, They were instructed that only the cream of the crop could be considered on this round. They were to refine interview skills. They have until Mid July to get busy hiring. As for those of us who interviewed we were puppets.

I do not know any company who would spend thousands on flying people to interviews for pretend sessions. This is preposterous! I am not trying to argue. I am telling you a fact. I know someone who received the offer. Do not yell at me or write insults. I just got rejected too and I actually wanted this job. There are three waves= three start dates, June 25, and then two dates in the beginning of July. These interviews are not practice runs!

Only a very few got offers, As for the expense. It is all written off for taxes. How many times have we been on a National meeting and felt it was such a waste of time and money? One often wonders why medicine costs so much. We have been big spenders for many years now. I have 11 years in Pharma and have often wondered why we spend so much on things like speaker programs that only loser docs attend and yet we are pushed to do more. I too wanted this job, was well qualified, Had the CMHC and Hospital experience, Buy and Bill, Schizophrenia, and Injection experience. Top level awards the past two years and nothing less than a meets before that. The DM liked me said I would be the right fit etc. RBD interview went well asked what I did in college and if I played sports....I did not, I was more of a science guy and speech and debate. Need I say more. No call as of yet. I have heard that the first round was more of an experiment than anything unless they felt there would be no other reasonable candidate or it is often a hard area to fill. Second and Third rounds will be more of the offers we had hoped for.

phone screen, web recording and trip to hotel with lots of candidates for face to face with dsms and than regional 15 minites later if they r interesd with offers by friday is the way they usually do it when hiring in bulk. is that what you went through

Hearing a lot on this board about the RBD asking about college sports in the interview. Is this an Otsuka cultural thing or is it a question of perceived competitive-ness?

F the entire recruitment process. Horrendous mistakes made along the way. They needed to hire more recruiters to help existing recruiters with call backs. VeRy unprofessional.

Please tell me that they really weren't using college sports as a requirement?

Does that make you a good employee? Or just some body a mgr can talk sports with while having a beer?

Anyone involved in the Otsuka Interviewing/Hiring fiasco.. YOU MUST GO BACK AN READ POSTS from around November 2009 when OTSUKA Reaquired rights to Abilify and was building up CNS Spec Force. They completely screwed the pooch then and are completely screwing the pooch in the exact same ways in 2012. Yeah- I want to work for a company who is too stupid or inept to learn from their own mistakes... seriously- read 2009 posts at how many reps were completely pissed at how things were managed/mismanaged in recruiting-staffing.

History Repeats with this crap stain

At my interview we spent almost the entire time talking about my Division one athletic background at a major mid western powerhouse conference. I was "hinted" that my collegiate background would catapult me to the top and sure enough I got the call from the big man the next day wanting to bounce around old war stories about the glory days, I was hired that evening and if it was not for the athletics I would not have stood a chance as I only had 1.5 years in pharma and no psych experience! Weird.
