new harmonic generator works with enseal?

my ethicon rep told me this was coming next month and that it can work with both enseal and the harmonic. Is this true? he also mentioned it would be compatible with a reprocessed harmonic. he's told us wrong information before so this has made us skeptical. can anyone confirm this information?

it is only 2 boxes on top of each other . still 2 different energy sourecs. Who ever comes out with a device that has mono/bi/ultrasonic all in one wins. The next will be wireless. I hear we are way behind the 8 ball, we are at least 2 years away , who will it be

The only generator that works with enseal is the enseal generator. I guess you could tape the enseal generator to the top of the harmonic generator and call it a dual generator? Sorry, but I think your rep may have mislead you.

You are wrong! Hospitals want flexible platforms. Rumor is VL in the coming years move away from the all in one. Ethicon is a beast of a company with alot of strengths, stop trying to be Covidien!

EES rep here. I havent heard these rumors but theres no such thing as a hybrid generator coming. Although that would be cool.

The two technologies are completely different and require different machines to power them.

I work at Mayo in Rochester. We were told a new one is coming and the rep said they will give us the new generators for free if we give them the old ones. He said it would be one unit that works with the Enseal and harmonic.

On a side note, who would I contact if I am wanting to get in the Med Sales business. I am interested in EES and was wondering if there is someone in my area I could forward my resume. I have 6yrs of OR experience and have great relationship with docs.

Thanks.

Stay away. Ethicon is like pharma.

Calling bullshit on the single box for harmonic and enseal. BULLSHIT! Get out your tape and tape the two boxes together.

Six years of OR experience is good but you'll need sales experience as well. Are you a tech or RN? A Bachelor's degree is required.

If you Google "JNJ careers", you'll get the website where you can search for openings withing JNJ. I'd also talk to your EES rep to see if there are any openings within your area.

New to this posting...I am being told that this new generator is designed to KILL reprocessing at our hospitals in Minnesota. Is that true? It is rumored that Bill Wilson came clean when he left, he was our DM.

What is supposed to kill reprocessing is that the generator will be able to tell if a Harmonic has been used already or not. So if it is reprocessed, it will not work with the new generator. Strategy is if EES has to give the generator away for free, they just need to get them into the accounts so the reprocessing guys will be screwed.

And you're basing that information on what?

The new generator works with both Harmonic and EnSeal, in one box.

It most definitely works with reprocessed devices. Simply contact your Ethicon representative and they will show you in person, or provide you with a letter from the company stating that reprocessed devices do work on the new generator, which ever you prefer.

Ethicon is updating its generators just like every company updates their generators. If you truly feel there is an alterior motive with the launch of these new generators, contact your representative or even their division manager and just ask! They can provide you with documentation and answers.

You must remember that internet discussions are often plagued by competing companies who are trying to prevent hospitals from getting accurate information about their competitors.

Your best source of knowledge is your representative and the company's website.
